Hot Scoop: Dhanush to star in Mani Ratnam's next!

After making waves in Bollywood and Kollywood, the VIP star has caught the eye of the veteran director
It is every actor's dream to work with ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who is revered in the film industry for his unique style of films. While the director had made careers of actors like Arvind Swamy and R Madhavan in the past, even established stars long for being cast in a Mani Ratnam film. The latest news coming from the Kadal director's front is that the filmmaker is all set to collaborate with none other than Anegan star Dhanush.
We have learnt from a reliable source that Mani has finalised Dhanush for his next Tamil project and apparently the actor is over the moon with the prospects of working with the Roja filmmaker. The actor-director duo have had contrasting fortunes at box office in the recent years. While Dhanush is having a tremendously fruitful run at box office with films like VIP and Anegan becoming blockbuster hit, also not to forget his emergence in Bollywood with Raanjhanna and Shamitabh, Mani Ratnam has had disastrous outing at box office lately. His last two films - Kadal and Ravanan failed to set the cash registers ringing and his coveted comeback project to Telugu cinema with Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got scraped.
Right now Dhanush is busy with Balaji Mohan's Maari and Mani is gearing up for the release of his Tamil flick, Ok Kanmani, starring Dulquar Salman and Nithya Menon in the lead. With Dhanush joining Mani Ratnam's bandwagon, will the fortunes of the great filmmaker change? As a movie buff, I am really excited to see Dhanush joining hands with Mr Ratnam. And I know, so are you!
