Reality Show Reality Check

What is a reality show...there is no such thing as a reality show...whats real is what we live through, not what we watch on the tv, what we watch on the tv is something masterminded, programmed, and altered to specific needs...the moment something is on the tv its not reality...it might reflect reality to some extent...but it is definately not reality...lets go down memory lane...WRESTLING...any one must have heard of it...when it was new...we all got so darn excited...maybe not the females but the males and the young ones...you would jump with joy, and cry if your superstar got beat up etc...wrestling was off the hook...now go back to it...everyone knows its fake, the people within the business admit its fake, and call it entertainment only...selling what people might like or do like...so sometimes selling what people hate...yes selling what people hate works too...its called reverse psychology...working with the human brain...ever seen that retarded commercial that you hate so much...ever notice thats the darn commercial you actually watch the most...and than somehow later on you get used to it, or dont mind it as much...ohhhh remember how cool magic tricks used to be...but darn we found out how they are done and it no longer excites us...but will catch attention now and than coz we used to love it once....or how about...ever like the retarded run-on-never-ending-soap-opera shows that are on the tv all time all year long...sorry not all year...all life long...you hate them, you know how pathetic they are...but at some time you get enticed and get hooked and start watching...sure giggle...but thats the reality...for example jassi jaisi koi nahin...how obvious it was that she needed a MAKEOVER...well it took the writing team of the show some 10000000 episodes to come across that...and we breathed finally...or some cried and wanted the ugly version back...enough of examples...back to reality shows...what you see on Indian idol or SRGMP or any other reality based show is simply orchestrated or edited...yes there is reality touch to it...like the better people failing out or taking hardships (THE POOJA's THE DEEPALI's etc good contestants getting voted out, over the rather weaker ones) how the lame or undeserving people make it to the top or too early to the top before their time...like SANDEEP ACHARYA over KARUNYA...now if the Indian idol gives so much damn about how they want the real talent to go onwards and win...well why dont they just have the judges pick out the contestants...how hard is that...or if u wanna look at it the other way...when u have rules casted in stone...why not live with them than cry to the public ohhh vote for talent vote for this vote for that...if u have given the janta the decision to make and if they make watever decision than atleast stop cussing out the janta and calling them idiots on every darn show...what sony or zee or any other channel displaing such non-sense called reality what they care about is the $$$ ... they can have the judges pick out the true talent...but what better than having janta VOTE (Pay for it and get called idiots) and earn in billions gazillions...and still give out a moocher of a winner...ofcourse they dont even tell you who got how many votes or who didnt...how do we know that what they tell that X contestant got kicked off was the truth and not the person they wanted to be kicked off...or thanked and had exited the stage...they bring up situations and dramatic features into the shows that will have the audience watch and VOTE more...or get pissed off coz their contestant isnt being treated properly and VOTE more, or get ticked that their contestant is still in danger zone even though performed really good...or to VOTE a contestant just to tick off others etc etc etc...its just about making the money...nothing but...

SO WHERE IS THE REALITY...

The contestants get rewarded in the fact that they come on the TV show, they come across the public...their aim is really not to win...its just to come across...and get known and have a fan base...so Deepali got kicked...you feel all misserable and terrified etc etc and will now do everything to buy that CD or whatever brand she becomes to promote...TADA job done for her...look at SUHIT...already doing commercials...he has it made big...already b4 the show that was supposed to make him big is even over...so thats the reality check of the reality shows...hope you liked what you read...forgive for the style (what style, lolz)...the run ons etc etc...

So is reality shows a reality...decide for yourself and if you may throw some props and discuss it out...and dont forget to watch your fav reality shows on their prompted times...lolz

You seem to be a very sensible person. What you said is 200% right. All reality shows are edited and are pieces put together, it is not reality.

thanks for posting this. i enjoyed reading it 😊I agree with you and I think more people should realize that it's not reality and not take certain things as seriously as they do. The people on the show are real in the sense that they're just normal everyday people like us except they got a chance to be on television. Certain aspects are real, as you said, but a lot of what we see is scripted or edited (A LOT lol) so we never really know the whole story. All we know is what sony decides to show us and that is not reality.

ofcourse they look real...or why the heck would we watch em...i m not saying watch em or dont watch em...thats for you to decide...i am just raising the aspect of how much of its real...of course they cry...which actor doesnt cry when they are told to do so...and its easy to break down when you are young and sentimental...agar woh raoin gey nahin who will vote for them...lolz...their job is to sell themselves to the public...look appear and connect as much to the public through whatever it may be...and ofcourse them comming out to perform is real...they are students of music...but its just they are only when they are singing...on the stage in front of us...that part is real...other than that...its jokes fun etc etc...and as you said its sad to watch someone leave...ofcourse it is...especially when they live together in mumbai and all of a sudden a new best friend leaves...you do get emotional...and i dont know if any of you has ever been to a recording for these shows...coz if you have than you'll know how much is real and how many times mini or husain say again in the reality show ITS NOW TIME TO TAKE A COMMERCIAL...lolz...since when in real life do we take commercials...when was the last time you went all of a sudden its now time for a commercial and than lalalalala buy kitkat lalalalalala and back to whatever you were doing...lolz...forgiveness for i am not trying to belittle you...its just its a well scripted program we watch and we love it...but whats wrong is the fact they misguide us by saying its REALITY...and have some ppl vote and spend all their money which they prob had saved or stashed for other better reasons...

i am gonna ask a simple thing...when was the last time sony showed us a proof that this is how voting is done and this is how much votes contestants got...they have never told us that not even once...they just come up and go "THANKS FOR THE 21 KAROR VOTES...YOU PPL ARE IDIOTS VOTE PROPERLY THANKYOU AND OH VOTE MORE" how do we so easily buy that concept...than a mere fact that its not a reality show...food for thought maybe...😉

thankyou and you are welcome...its all about making the money...or how come sony doesnt incorporate commercials in its shows...coz they dont create as much money...with the commercials they will prob get paid 21 karore for the whole run of the show from the sponsors etc...but with the voting they prob hit figures like 50 karore votes (i dont know exactly how much ppl get charged for per vote) assuming atleast 2-5 ruppees atleast...thats like mad mad money...for one show only...and they will never give you numbers of votes in real quantity...if its too low they wont tell u...if its too high they wont tell you coz it will give the bad image for show if votes are low...or ppl will relax off if the votes are too much which i certainly believe they are...

if i were to bet my money...sony and zee must be looking for me right about now...😆 😆 😆
