Nyonika Died In A Car Crash'
Nandini was shocked after reading the headlines. She did not want to get into details. She registered the fact why Manik's phone was not reachable for the whole day yesterday. She need to see him right now. She shouldn't have took a week off from college. She missed her Ams. Its only been 3 days since she is home. Manik is her priority now. She failed trying to call Manik for an umpteen number of times.
Nandini managed to depart from home only by night. It was a bright new next day when she reached Manik's home.
Manik' called Nandini little loudly and gasping for breath from all the running. She met Fab 5 at the hallway.
They were distressed. They were sitting together except for Cabir. They noticed Nandini but made no move to reach to her. Nandini spotted cabir at the bar of the hallway.
Cabir..Where is Manik? Is he alright?. I need to see him. Where is he?' asked Nandini visibly worried for Manik. She could not guess what Manik is feeling right now. Happy that the great hindrance in his life is gone or sad that he lost his only family. Definitely not happy by the looks of it. She decided.
He locked himself up in his room for the past 2 days and not showed up once. Neither took food nor water'.. paused Cabir and after steadying himself said we tried everything. He is not opening his door. Planning to break it now'
Let me try Cabir' so saying Nandini did not wait for Cabir to reply. She ran towards the stairs to Manik's room.
Manik open the door. Its me. Manik please. I need to see you. Open the door Manik'..cried Nandini.
When the door opened with a click she could not believe what she saw.
Manik is a disaster. His hair disheveled. Eyes are red and bulgy probably he was crying or did not sleep at all and it lost its focus. He did not look at her. Nandini could not believe that Manik is mourning for Nyonika. His Mother. The deal maker who used Manik to get her work done. But she will deal with that later.
Nandini went in for a hug. Manik did no move to touch her. It felt heart wrenching to see Manik like this. She cried unknowingly.
Manik...Manik can you see?, I am here. Manik.. Look at me..'His eyes did not flick.
Manik please. Don't do this to me. Let me help you. Look at me please' Nandini cried more.
His face registered a change but he still did not looked at her and tears rolled down his cheek freely.
When Nandini tiptoed and held his cheeks in her hands and kissed him all over his face, he saw her.
Nandini could sense Manik's fear now. His eyes conveyed everything that she wanted to know. He is scared that he is alone with no one to watch his back. He could do anything and trust his mother to look after him when he assured her whatever she wanted from him. Its not that he loved her. But she was his pillar of strength. He learned to face the world from his mother. He lost her now.
Its okay Manik. You have me. You have your friends. Everything will be alright. Trust me Manik'. Nandini's words fell in deaf ear. He was looking at her blanly.
The next thing Nandini did was completely out of her mind. She did not think it through. Everything that matters now is the man standing before her.
She held Manik's hands and lead him to the bed. He walked behind her like a lamb. She made him sit and sat on his lap straddling his hips with her legs.
She kissed him. She did not sense any movement in his lips. She cried and kissed him again and again how long she never know.. Manik kissed her back. He is kissing me' shouted Nandini's mind and she took the lead and removed his shirt and kissed his shoulder. The next thing she knows Manik's hands engulfed her in a bone crushing hug and rocking her back and forth his lips in sync with hers.
They made love.
I love you Manik' whispered Nandini to sleeping Manik lying next to her. Though he did not utter a word all the while Nandini hoped Manik would be fine. Ofcourse he will be fine. Afterall Nandini is the only one who can touch his soul and truly his soulmate.
