There are many reasons for TRP fiasco of serial
1) Illogical story line2) One leap after another no connection bet scenes, episodes etc all confusing no emotional bonding with charcaters no sympathy empathy3) Salim too negative(major reason CVs at fault)4) Ruqaiah not liked by viewers too negative to be a Mughal begum5) Negative campaign against the show that led many viewers to stop watching or coming to forums6) Leap too sudden (childhood of salim ignored)7) Salim-anarkali story repeat of Jodha Akbar hate love(should have foll Mughal e azam)8) New actors taking time to get into characters(but because of negative campaign they were never given a chance, when JA started a similar campaign was on against Jodha too that she does not no to act, no expressions etc some actors take time to get into role)9) Comparision bet Jodha Akbar and Salim anarkali actors(JA also took time to catch up I remember till Sep-Oct 2013 was when it picked up because till then many had not started watching JA)10) Finally saas bahu shown instead of historical Akbar falling at Jo feet, salim trying to help his friend kidnap a bride, Akbar cooking, Akbar jhoru ka ghulam etc who will believe the Mughal emperors Akbar and Jehangir shall ever behave like this

Fall in TRPs is hardly surprising, for me in a nutshell - it is a drawing curtains on a love story which was the USP of the show.
As much as one may underestimate the IQ / EQ of Indian audience - fact is people can tell fact from fiction , people watched JA for different kind of love and were willing to put up with illogical stuff as long as the love story was intact. And now that Salim is all grown up, no matter how much they show Jo JA together - the magic , the passion of new love is gone. Most viewers dont care about Akbar, or Jodha or Rajputs or MP or Chittor war or Din e Illahi; it was about a raja rani ki love story. A royal love story was to be enigmatic, mystical with an aura of royalty and elegance of age - JA after 6 months had none of these, thats when trouble really started for JA.Tracks like Ruk FP, Atifa, Khaiber - which took story nowhere, rather they digressed from protagonists. Still viewers hung on hoping for better days expecting progression of a love story - but that shred of hope was dashed with a grownp up Salim and Anarkali. Mughal aan baan shaan is quite well known and here toh uski dhajjiyyan udd gayi...toh na jab love story bachi na royalty toh what is left to watch! Both the other shows that feature Akbar have better portrayal of Akbar than JA where he is a co-lead!its sad how something that could have become so great is now rotting, intial of marriage are the most poignant where one explores new levels of love, understanding , respect, insecurities, passion...and all this in a normal couple, and here we had royalty in backdrop of ambition, authority, politics and polygamy - CVs were fools to not exploit the potential of this story to the fullest, and we audience are the biggest losers who got so emotionally invested in something that climaxed into nothing.
Why only akbar falling his begum feet? I nvr heard ruq was that much negative in real history on the contrary she love salim as her own son n was mediator between father n son to solve disputes between them, n yes i hv heard frm some where that in MP salima begum shown flirting with akbar during the life time of her first husband, which is really very bad, one can not degrade the ladies who infact were nice hearted humans if she was a lady of easy virtue she wud not hv brought up her husband's first wife son so well after his death who later on became one of the most trusted gem of akbar how far it is right to show her so cheap n mean if there is no mghul alive to oppose these all nonsense but here anything can b shown in the name of NR, n it's really a pity to watch these sick mental state of writer n cvs, i hv heard that akbar's all 3 chief begums were equally nice human being
