after seeing pujas ouster, i was quite amazed that how a talented singer can be preferred over prashant and ankita. i realized this is a talent competition, and having supported both ankita and puja at the same time, its high time to rejig my thoughts about this competition. based on talent wise prashant and ankita are the weakest singers and no matter how much spark they have, to be a play back singer, you need to have sur right in place, then comes performance, i hope to see emon, amit and chang in top 3. cant afford to lose another talented singer after deepali and puja.

i hope javed and anu malik stop being biased and support the right people. javed saab seems to besotted by ankita and same goes for anu malik, anu malik is a great judge but now i feel udit is speaking without any biased thoughts while javed seems to be stuck on ankita.

Well, Puja has said in her interview that her fav. judge is ANU MALIK because he supports trained singers. I agree with Puja there.

As for Javed ji, I do think he needs to take off his biased sunglasses and really start to criticize Ankita and appreciate Prashant a bit. I am sorry Raunaq but I dont agree with those people who belittle Prashantsimply because prashant has the best playback singer voice of any contestant in II3 and he is wrongly been criticized by Javed ji simply because he is not in his good books. Lets not forget that Anu Malik and Udit Narayan thinks very highly of Prashant.

As for Ankita, I heard she sang really well in this gala and got rave comments from judges. So lets wait and see her singing this time. May be she finally did a great job this time.

why prashant is not in good books of javed saab? what happened? are we missing something here, i supported prashant from the beginning but then i saw he lost that zest and then i started to like him again but after seeing some of his recent performances, i dont feel that he is a good singer, he needs some more training 😕 😕 😕

did ankita do a great job?👏 👏 👏 then we have to wait to see what happens, at the moment, chang, prashant, ankita will have to be chosen, but emon and amit definitely deserve to in the top 3 😳

Prashant:

1. He has the #1 playback singer voice of any contestant in II3

2. He has sung the most difficult songs of any contestant in II3 uptil now with songs like Ya Ali, kaho na kaho, mein hoo naa, Ye hosla, sarforashi, rind posh maal, etc etc are very very difficult songs not child stuff

3. Anu Malik and Udit Narayan both know what Prashant is made up of... He sings with his soul and his heart and thus both ANU and UDIT support Prashant

4. Prashant is not classically trained but he is NEVER out of sur.. NEVER. Thats the strength of his singing.

yes i agree prashant is very talented, i think rite now hes the most under-rated singer on indian idol sadly.

the 2 people on indian idol with strong yet soft voices are prashant and amit but i think prashant's weakness lies in his song selections.

i hope he chose a well known song this time👏

I agree.... I think the most overrated is Chang, and most underrated is Prashant.

Music is an art so is singing, it's not a science like physics or even like maths. And all while whining and cringing about 'trained' and 'non-trained' people forget that music comes from the heart, melody is by birth. There was music in this world before classical music started. There is music all over even now. Did any of the people who came up with folk songs have classical training? No! They composed their music and their songs while they were cutting their grass; ploughing their fields; taking their goats and sheep for grazing. Those songs are alive even today and some of the modern day music directors even get 'inspired' by them. If 'training' was everything, why does that sort of music still hold importance today?

Also, no amount classical or whatever training will give anybody a melodious voice. It may help a singer learn the best technique of controlling his/her breath etc but it will never ever give that singer a voice that people may want to hear again and again, that comes by birth.

Very nice post, Orchid. Good to see someone with indepth knowledge of music.

Actually voice and melody is in-born talent and most important thing for music.. the 2 best male voices of II3 are Prashant and Amit. The best female voice of II3 is Deepali. Thats a natural gift that comes without any training. These 3 can do more riyaaz in future and in 5-7 years they will be accomplished singers.

As far as singing is concerned then Emon, Smitha and Puja are good trained singers.. but I think their voice is naturally not as good as the 3 above. Emon and Puja are too young, may be thats why.

The rest are so so.. Chang has a good voice though as well.
