Pradhuman@ibnlive

New Delhi:

Kashaf- Zindagi Gulzar Hai: The role portrayed by Saman Saeed was a strong girl whose sole aim in life was to live a life of respectability. Kashaf, saw her mother from the time she was born, struggling to make ends meet. She grew up to be angry with the world and her fate and did not want to depend on anyone. At the end though her hard work pays off and she finds the support she was looking for in Zaroon's love.

Khirad- Humsafar: Mahira Khan brought to life this strong willed girl who refused to fall down and let things go by when life dealt her a blow in the face of her mother-in-law's trick. She fights for her daughter's life and in doing so her husband who, on being misguided, had abandoned her fall back in love and admiration of her strong spirit.

Durr-e-Shahwar- Dhoop Chaon: The question of marriage being a life full of compromises is answered by Durr-e-Shahwar in this serial which narrates the story of a mother helping her daughter to save her marriage. Played by Samina Peerzada and Sanam Baloch in parts this character shows that if one is open one can even learn the life's basic values staying within the four walls of one's house.

Zubeida - Badi Aapa: Portrayed by Savera Nadeem, in this story of a rigid and brave woman whom everyone calls badi aapa, shows how a women stands strong on her beliefs and go on paying no heed to any one's thoughts about her.

Zainab- Tere Ishq main: Pakistani star Resham portrays the role of the simple girl who falls in love only to be betrayed and then makes revenge the aim of her life. The simple Zainab travels from being a poor religious girl to a big movie star and gets her way but finds that she was still the same girl inside who wants to be loved.

Suhaai- Mastana Mahi: A little girl is married of to an older cousin who does not want to marry her and returns home after finishing his education with a second wife of his choice. Even though she was the first wife and superior in relation, she accepts the second wife with open arms and finds, to her delight, a sister in her. Sajal Ali's portrayal of this kind hearted girl who gives up her rights and takes a submissive position in the relationship shows great strength and depth of character which is rare to come across.

I haven't watched Mastana Mahi, though watched some random scenes, but d description of Sajal's character hardly makes her d epitome of a strong woman.

Also haven't watched Badi Aapa, but from what I hv read, seems her character was too dominating and her style was 'my way or high way' and she's shown selfish. So dat does nto a strong woman make.😆

Anyways mine would be the following:

Kashaf of course

Saba from Kaisi Yeh Qayamat coz she chose her own path.

Khirad coz of the dignified was she handled all the hardships.

Rafia

Seep from Ijaazat. Seep is shown such an independent, successful and having a mind and personality of her own kind of woman with lots of dignity, self-respect and strength, yet she hardly ever gets mentioned.

Also Ujala from Piya Re I guess, though haven't watched it.

Also others like the ladies of Aaj Rang Hai, who r shown street smart and know tht in d setup they r living it, it's d survival of the smartest😳. Then of course Shazia ?(Mera Naseeb), Gauhar (Gauhar), nd d mother from Mera Saaya.
