Coming to my views on the episode. I am in a total mess in the head. As messed as the story of this show seems to me now. And the spoilers just add to the confusions in my head
But I think its too premature to talk about that. So will stick to the episode.
The highlight of the episode for me was Sarika. I am really happy she spoke the way she did. Sarika isn't a commodity that can be played with, called for and sent away when they all like. And I hated Raman for taking her for granted. All along for the last few months they'd even forgotten she existed. And now when they know Romi can't have a child anymore they remember their responsibilities. I kind of felt like laughing in the scene because Raman was outright feeling shameful and it was obvious on his face, and he kept prodding for Ishita to speak because he didn't have words..
About his outrage. His tone with pathetic, his words even more and I don't think I can really justify them. BUT YES I definitely agree to your POV. Raman's been an imperfect man, a HUMAN. And this is not the first time when he spoke mindlessly venting his frustrations on Ishita. His family is in a mess, his life is a mess. There are a zillion issues going on and he just wants to set at least one right. And he's making mistakes in order to get at least SOME sort of semblance in their lives. And like you said, its not like he doesn't realize he's wrong. It's not like he does not realize Ishita is right. But he doesn't like hearing a NO from her today because he thinks when it was her time and she said she'd made a mistake and wanted to rectify it, they gave her a chance, so she should as well. I can't always justify Raman, but yes from his POV and in his mental state, his outburst was him being Raman Kumar Bhalla, the RKB we know.
But I'll have to say this. He's DEFINITELY taking her for granted. I don't think he realizes it. I don't think Ishita does, or even the writers don't .. But I as a viewer do feel so.
In the whole episode I totally loved Ishita's stand. She wanted to do the right thing. She thought going to Sarika wasn't morally right. She did go along because she had to support Raman. She gets his point, I think she got his point even when he shouted at her. But she stood her ground. That she wouldn't force her opinions on them and did not expect them to listen out, but she wouldn't go along with their way. And I think that's what hurt Raman..
The episode was a complex mix of opinions and emotions. A good start to a track. BUT I hate how YHM has amazing starts for a tracks, but never a justified conclusion.
P.S -- Raman is in a mess at this moment because of all the million issues surrounding him. He's hanging on by a thread and when it breaks, he's going to make mistakes. And they're going to cost him and the family a LOT. THAT if I am right on guessing what follows after the spoilers play out.
