The Hindi teacher whose name I already forgot (xD) took up way too much of the screen time but she symbolized all the old traditions of Warrior High. I specially liked the bit where she asked Vibha's name and Vibha was stunned to be forgotten so soon. Then the lady's smirk and warning that being a teacher is harder than being a student. That makes Vibha's standing in WH all the more interesting. Because new teachers be it in any institution are most of the times too idealistic. Because they are young and they feel that they can connect with the students more. They have goals and aspirations and the fresh memory of their own student life. So they either think their approach towards teaching would be different than how they were taught or the same as they were taught because it was all done so wonderfully. Here tou Vibha is an ex-Warrior, she hasn't spent too far away from this school. She passed out from here and only spent one year in foreign before coming back to this place. Plus, she has confessed that she has fond memories of the past because it represents her good times to her. Add the utterly new experience of being on the other side in the same place which made her, this girl is bound to be baffled and will take time to find her element. Oooh...Vibha suddenly became a very interesting character for me today 😆
The Hindi lady was feeling Parth's biceps, right? It's not like ke I blame her but uhum..inappropraite much? But then..guess teachers want their action as well 🤣 Oh, I love the way this show treats teenagers' interest towards sex so casually and realistically. Student checking out teacher's assets, boy bee-lining towards the bed to find po*nography saved by his brother; no exaggerated OTTness but clean and simple portrayal of stuff that actually happens.
Which brings me towards another thing that was shown today - tradition. Places like WH which are so untouched by time, they have their own majestic factor to them. It's a world within a world. Once inside its boundaries, the outside world ceases to exist. No cell phones, no makeup, no gadgets; anything and everything that symbolizes the outside world is left at the threshold itself. Of course the students sneak them in if they can because how can one leave the bigger world like that outside? And that brings in some fascinating clash and a strong hierarchy. Those who have the stuff are like the kings and queens, those who don't are the helpless slaves. Competition really does live in every corridor of this place. Also, how generations come and go but the place remains the same. The bunk where the older brother slept was kissed as welcome by the younger brother. The myths, the legends, the stories, the traditions, they all are very much alive there. Bahar suna tha ke WH aisa hai, ab andar aake jiyenge ke WH kaisa hai. Lovely.
Character wise, Krissan took some points today. This girl oozes confidence and knows all the tricks of trade. How to behave and how to deceive. She seems like an old and wise player, the way she was sharing her wisdom. Definitely a book which shouldn't be judged by the cover.
Utkarsh and Niti were so...innocent. The way they touched everything and marveled at them, not even hesitating to touch the floor and checking for dirt on it. It's so cute and innocent and puts them easily on the veterans' radars who thrive on playing with the newbies. Niti has already found a support in the shape of Vibha and it's really sweet. Her looking at Vibha and smiling shyly as she shook her head that no, she has no gadgets or makeup. But aah..this girl has such tough times ahead of her. My protective instincts just jump up at the sight of her.
Utkarsh really is the dreamy guy. The way he talks, walks, behaves...he is in his own bubble entirely. Surprised at the world around him but not a part of it. He didn't even back down in embarrassment when Parth initially ignored his extended hand of friendship and stood his ground which totally melted me. And I confess to squealing when Parth sighed and took his hand! BROMAANNCEEE~
Sid is quickly becoming my BABY!! He's darn adorable! And he has issues. Gaaah...favorite character!! <3 <3 <3
Fangirling aside, thankfully no drama at the cliff. Siyali's cry was more of surprise than fear or hurt. I loved it how she looked up at Sid and raised her eyebrows, "Dekh kya rahe ho? Haath do!" And Sid had to obey. Though I could feel the fear radiating off him. He really doesn't have any pretense of being a gentleman. Jo hai so hai. Ab if she isn't giving him the box, he'll snatch it himself and open it. I loved his reaction seeing Maa sitting peacefully in the box. It was a frog! She risked her life for a FROG! Boy, Sid could've fainted from shock. Though I loved his question to her, if she can risk her life for something which is dear to her beloved, what can she do for the beloved himself? And that really does sum up Siyali's actions. She can go to any length and height and depth for her family. The dream sacrificed her dream of WH without a second thought just so Utkarsh can get a chance to make his life, coming to Dehradun with a practical stranger to give Utkarsh his Maa really isn't that big of a step next to that.
Sid and Siyali are already clashing in ideologies. For all her practicality, she does value the love and loyalty of family and of true relationships. She might've been brought up in an orphanage but she was taught that family can be made anywhere and once made, it's unbreakable. Sid doesn't believe that. Him mocking her beliefs was testament to his own family life which might look great on paper but doesn't seem all that amazing in real life. I love the way he flat out said, "I'm still not convinced." He was baffled seeing Siyali doing all those things for her loved one. Sacha pyaar. Is that even a thing in reality for Sid? To him it's just a term which has long lost its meaning. Probably a thing of myths and legends. Suna hai pyaar mein aisa karte hain log...aisa suna hai. That's the kind of idea Sid has. But now he is seeing Siyali actually doing that and well...that's a new thing for him. But despite all that, he didn't really call her out for it and let her to her own devices. Her choice if she believes in all those things, he really doesn't care about her. But is that true? Spending close to 12 hours with her in a strange city and having all those adventures, can he really be nonchalant about her? I'd say no. He already noticed her lack of smiles and commented that she should smile more...that doesn't sound like "not interested" to me 😉
