So far, he has been faking it. Ranbir hates his mother, Ragini. In an earlier episode, Ranbir told Pam that he is pretending to be interested in Shillpa as he is aware of the fact that Aarav loves her. So, if he woos Shilpa that would hurt Aarav which will eventually cause Ragini a lot of anguish. So, in this way Ranbir will exact his revenge.
