CHAPTER THIRTY

Everyone gathered in the living room taking a glass before they took their seats. They were shortly joined by Santosh, Mr. Bhalla and Romi who welcomed the guests and also took their own glasses. They exchanged pleasantries and talked like they were a family that had known each other for so many years and had no worry in the world.

They laughed and joked as they talked about each other's past funny stories and embarrassing moments not having a care in the world UNTIL Simmi walked in with someone who was going to rip them apart in a way that none of them saw coming and also in a way that would leave both families not only shattered but also broken.

FLASH BACK A HOURS EARLIER

Shagun and Shlok had successfully laid a trap and it had worked. Parmeet was a very good looking man and he knew it, he also was a man who loved wealth and power and he would do anything to get it even if it meant giving up his own self respect and dignity. The highest bidder always got his services didn't matter who it was.

Shagun and Shlok had managed to plan this to perfection, everything was set and to make matters easier Simmi was a very gullible and insecure woman which made things perfect. Parmeet was to make Simmi fall head over heels in love with him that she would trust him so blindly and it is something that he had managed to do to perfect. This was the easy part because it wasn't the first time he was doing it.

Simmi thought she had meet the love of her life, he was kind, handsome, successful, smart and most importantly she loved him and she never thought that she would be the reason for him to not only hurt her but also the people she loved. Of all the people in the world she could have fallen in love with, she choose the worst kind.

'Make sure this meet is perfect, all you have to do is plant a seed of jealousy and Simmi will do the rest.'' Said Shagun

' This is not my first gig. I know what I am doing.'' Said Parmeet

'Well, if you mess this up, you won't get paid. I have a lot riding on it and so does my brother.'' Said Shlok

'I know and I won't let you down.'' Said Parmeet smilingly as he drunk his scotch

'The Bhallas have taken away a lot from me, I am taking away everything from them.'' Said Shagun

'I have a question, how do you intend on getting the evidence against Suraj from them?'' Asked Parmeet not that he cared just out of sheer curiosity

'Well the copies the police had has been taken care of, all I have to do is get the one Raman has and for that to happen, you need to make sure that you take advantage of Simmi's insecurity.'' Said Parmeet

'So how does Shagun get back into that house.'' Said Parmeet

'That's easy, Raman still has a soft corner for me and whether he admits it or not I am still THE WOMAN he fell in love with and will never love another like that. All I have to do is go with some sob story about Shlok beating me again, believe me he will let me into that house.'' Said a very confident Shagun

Parmeet looked at this crazy woman and he had to feel bad for this Raman because he really was married to the worst kind of woman, one who would do everything she could for all the wrong reason, not that it bothered him because all that mattered is if he got paid.

'Okay then, I am meeting Simmi to go meet her parents in about an hour, so I will see you all later.'' Said Parmeet as he gathered his stuff and walked out of Shlok's house

There plan was perfect and to be honest it would have worked except for the one little problem they didn't anticipate, Parmeet wasn't actually working for them but rather someone else someone much much worse than they could have imagined.

The fact Shlok ran into him at a benefit was very convenient and just like they had planned the meet with Simmi, in the way the meet with Shlok was planned.

Parmeet's actual job was to infiltrate the Bhalla house in a way that would not implicate him or his boss and unlike what Shagun and Shlok were thinking, his actual target was ISHITA KUMAR BHALLA.

PRESENT TIME

Simmi stood outside nervously as she waited for Parmeet who was parking the car hoping and praying her family loved him as much as she did. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with him and so her family's approval would have meant a lot especially her mom's.

'Hey why do you seem so nervous, it will be okay.' Said Parmeet as he came up and put his hand around her waist

'Don't do that someone might see you.'' Said Simmi nervously

'Calm down, it will be okay. I will be at my best behavior.'' Said Parmeet teasingly to which Simmi just smiled, took a deep breath and finally decided to walk in.

'Please! Everyone looks at her innocent face and think she sweet but this one is the biggest prank star of them all.'' Said Abhi pointing at Simmi as they all laughed

'Oh hey Simmi'' Said Santosh before she could see Simmi's friend

'Oh hey Mama...'' she answered

'You very welcome...'' Said Santosh

'Oh thank you so much Mam...'' Said Parmeet

'Oh please call me Ammi everyone does. How are you doing?'' Said Santosh

'Oh I am doing quite okay thank you'' Said Parmeet to which Simmi just smiled

'I for one do not know a thing. How are you doing?'' Said Raman as he came forward and greeted Parmeet

'Oh excuse my manners, this is Raman and Romi my brothers, Mihika my sister in Law, Jai my brother in law...'' Said Simmi as everyone came forward to say hello as she tried to figure out who was the remaining guy in the room

'Oh I am Abhimanyu, Ishu's friend. Nice to meet you both'' Said Abhi as he greeted them both

'This everyone is Parmeet, My fianc'' said Simmi

Raman and Romi were stunned out of their minds because they had no idea that this was even going on unlike the unsurprised Mr. and Mrs. Bhalla who were just smiling like idiots.

'You what now...'' asked Raman

'Yeah I think I didn't quite hear you right. Could you please repeat that'' Said Romi

'My fianc...'' Said Simmi as she put her hand in Parmeet's

'When the hell did this happen and how long have you even known him.'' Said Raman no holding back

'Raman behave...'' said his dad

'I met him a few days after Ishita's accident.'' Said Simmi

'That's like 2 months, you're engaged to someone you have known for 2 months'' asked a shocked Romi

'What the hell, Papa you allowed this...'' said Raman

'Raman this is not the place or time.'' Said Mr. Bhalla

'It is okay Sir, I understand they are just looking out for their sister.'' Said Parmeet before he turned to Raman and Romi and Said

'I get you're worried about your sister but I will take good care of her I promise you. And it is not like we are marrying tomorrow, we have plenty of time to get to know each other before we get married. The reason I asked is because I believe life is too short so when I see what I want I go for it and your sister is something that I love, why waste time when I know what I want. You of all people should understand this'' Said Parmeet trying to convince them

'Raman we shall talk about this later at least let him come in and have a glass of water. That is not the way to treat guests.'' Said Santosh who was clearly trying to ease the tension that was building up in the room

'Hey everyone more juice...'' Said Ishita who was coming from the kitchen with more juice

When she got in there was tension and she could sense it wondering what is wrong before she looked around and saw Parmeet

'Oh hey you welcome...'' she said

Parmeet looked at the girl who was carrying the glasses of juice and couldn't believe she was his target. She was standing in front of him in flesh and she was absolutely breath taking and it was a pity what he had planned for her. It was so sad that she was going to lose everything.

Step one was to just instill a little bit of doubt in Simmi's heart and if possible Raman as well and also move into this house, tonight.

'How are you doing'' said Ishita as she brought her hand forward to which he didn't reply but rather just stared at her something that didn't go unnoticed by Abhimanyu

'Oh My God I can't believe it. It is you, you are here. I can't belie... Oh My God'' Said Parmeet as she came forward and embraced Ishita pretending to be very excited

'Uhhh...'' said a very shocked Ishita who was as shocked as everyone in the room with the way all this was panning out

'How have you been, I haven't seen you in over what is it 8 years. You my dear have really changed good God.'' Said Parmeet looking at Ishita from head to toe

'I am sorry, have we met?'' said a very confused Ishita

'Yeah of course we did, in Goa, you were there for some rehab center or something I don't quite remember...'' Said Parmeet

'I am pretty sure you're mistaking me for someone else...'' said Ishita smilingly

'No I am not aren't you Aabha?'' he asked

Mihika, Jai and especially Abhimanyu were holding their breath because they hadn't heard anyone call her that for over 20 years. What the hell was going on? Something didn't quite add up. Ishita uncomfortably looked at the man before she mastered up all the courage to answer saying

'My name is actually Ishita not Aabha and I haven't been in Goa in a very very long time, longer than 8 years.'' She said

'You're the girl I met at the beach; I swear I would never forget that face and those eyes, so mysterious. We have met'' Said

' I do not know you, I have very few friends outside my family and believe it or not I don't make a lot of friends. So TRUST me we have never met. Besides 8 years ago I wasn't in Goa, I was in Mumbai.'' Said Ishita, an answer she would later regret

'Oh sorry maybe I mistook you for someone else...'' said Parmeet apologetically still staring at Ishita

'It is okay, it just seemed strange that you seemed so sure.'' She added trying to ease the tension in the room

Simmi was a very jealous lover, she was one of those people who would go at her boyfriend for just talking to another girl and the way Parmeet was talking to Ishita it didn't quite sit well with her.

Raman who should have been the most jealous in the entire room didn't seem to even care which not only surprised him but also Parmeet which made him realized that this was going to be harder than anticipated.

Raman smilingly looked at Ishita and slightly smiled shrugging his shoulders and made hand gestures almost as if to tell Ishita crazy people. She just smiled back and thanked the stars that the Raman she met 2 years earlier was very different from the one who was standing in front of her.

'Okay now that that crazy and slightly awkward business is up, can we eat because I for one am starving...'' Said Romi as everyone made their way to the dining table
