When Alvira said " Tum tho mere bete nahi ho na " and Sahir said " Gair" and closed his eyes as if to momentarily block out the pain of this real face of the woman he had come to think of as his mother...
The pain in that word...that gesture...the tone and body language conveyed it so well that as a viewer I felt it keenly. Hats off to Harshad...there was just that one minute and a couple of dialogs showing his reaction to such a big truth...but he brought out the myriad feelings Sahir was going through so amazingly well!
That disbelief...not wanting to accept...then slow realization...and then...he actually was sorry that Alvira had gone to this extent becAuse it was all so unnecessary. All she had to do was tell him because. " Maa kabhi galat nahi hoti"
The resignation in his tone..that stoic acceptance that she too had had an ulterior motive...the slight stoop in his shoulder as if the burden of betrayal was weighing him down...such subtle nuances but they enhanced tbe scene so muchđ
In fact...and forgive me for sounding like a broken record...they could have given Sahirs reaction more footage without cutting into that with Anam running in! I wish they had given us more of Sahir after this crucial revelation...it wasn't to be but having seen how amazing HC was in that scene, it would have been amazing to watch!
And of course zeenat never ceases to amaze...she is so oblivious that she thought Sahir would leave arzoo and accept her...and when she expressed this...the controlled anger and derision on Sahirs face...again HC emoting it so well...his eyes said it all...that slight smile when he said he accepted her mohabbat fully and would leave the house with her...that frown as she declared she wouldn't leave everything that was hers...and the best part was...HC conveyed that pain that was underlying tbe look of triumph on Sahirs face at zeenats words. Sure Sahir knew what zeenat wanted and he said all that to make her admit it but it still hurt him to have her say the words again and it showed...that was really brilliant interplay of expressions ..victory mingled with sadness that she still was the same selfish person he had come to know she was...!
What more can I say...I just wish we could have seen more of Harshad as Sahir!
What a performer and what a performance each time!đ. Harshad you rock...you really do!
