No. I disagree. Can we see Zee has a threat because of Colors? No right... Just an example... What I mean is, yes, there is competition. And with competition comes the fear of wipe out. But this fear makes us do better and excel better.
As another instance, this is similar to India's Import substitution policy of till 1991. India felt if other countries came in, Indians won't get opportunities. But when finally, we did have MNCs, Indian companies did well.
Similarly, because of Pakistani serials being aired in India, Indian Television will only perform better. This in respect to your hypothesis that Indian serials do have a threat.
But, I personally, am proud of the way Indian Television has developed over the years. It is almost as big as Bollywood now... And, it will improve in the years to come...
Yes. Saas - bahu shows will change. It will take time. But it will happen.
