History says Chanakya died by 275 BC and Bindusara by 272 BC.
Coronation of Ashoka happened in 269 BC
So according to history Chanakya never saw Ashoka in Magadh simhasan as samrat

I don't think cv's will show Chanakya's death before our naughty samrat vanraj becomes samrat Ashoka
As it is like final wish of Chanakya..

What do you think fanzzz of samrat vanraj..???

Samrat Vanraaj becoming emperor is a turning point in the show and Chanakya will live to witness it even if its from his deathbed.

Ofcourse history might be something else...joh bhi ho...but for sake of dramatization and entertainment...and TRPs ofcourse...Chanakya will live to see that day!

Chanakya died in the year 283 B.C., a year after Asoka's son Mahendra had been born. Although the cause of his death is highly debated the historians have come to this year as his end year. Also Asoka had come to power in 272 B.C. itself only coronation took place in 269 B.C. Either way Chanakya didn't live long enough to see Asoka as an emperor!
