A true marriage is more than physical actions

Marriage involves many rituals which need to connect with mind & soul. Without mind & soul they aren't rituals but simply outward actions...this is what our ancient scriptures say and not many are aware of this fact.

Without inward experience and without any realization of the principles and responsibilities there is no significance for outward actions.

Mere physical gestures can never make a valid bond between two individuals.

Rescuing a minor from unethical practices like child marriage is very important but in the scenes they've shown, it seemed more like 'it is the end of the road if all those physical actions were completed.'

Serials are like this only - Uttaran has set the standard a little too high - if someone sits under ghoonghat even then the marriage is final even though all the rituals were in name of someone else and people did not know that behind the ghoonghat it is some other girl. Strange ways of the serial world.

All the wedding rituals are in fact are parts of the promises that the bride and groom make to each other and so those rituals do hold a lot of significance.
When two adults go through those rituals believing that they are making promises to share their life
Even if it is a child marriage and the kids don't understand why they are doing these rituals they are still considered as married if they complete all these so that's the reason why people think it is the end of the road.Because these rituals signify the oaths the couple take
But in case of child marriage they remain as just physical activities since the children don't know what they are doing that itself but we are a nation which believes in rituals so they will honour the rituals and make the children honour them so it is all the more necessary to stop it before the wedding happens.

That's what I was saying people think mere physical gestures complete marriage but they don't! (according to ancient sacred texts in case of Hinduism involvement of mind & soul is part and parcel of every ritual)

Rituals signify the oaths the couple take but they are not considered as rituals when there is no awareness. There are sixteen main Sacraments (Samskaras) right from Garbhadaran to Antyeshti and Vivaah Sanskaar is one of them. Indeed all rituals are for purification of body, mind, and soul. Vidya (or awareness) is the root of all samskaras. Without awareness there are no rituals.

I understand your point...until & unless people become aware of these facts it is very difficult to change their mindsets. But the situation shown yesterday could have been a good start!
