Arshi, @blue is priceless!👏

And as for your take @red, Aparna, I am with you in toto. As I wrote just now on Shruthi's thread, responding to a neat piece of verbal sleight of hand from Arshi:

Dear Arshi (and Aparna too).

The part I have bolded, Arshi, is spot on!

The only scene where I felt that Maya was actually getting an emotion across to the viewer (apart from the perfect asthma attacks, that is, and the hysterical weeping fit before she leaves the letter) was during her silent face off with Balivesh where she is all trussed up. There was a fearlessness and a searing contempt in her eyes.

But that was it, and last night she was back to her bedraggled self. Opening her mouth into an O of shock as he grasps the knife blade in his bare hand, and then more and more of pathos ladled all over us.

It is not just that he has to act enough for both of them. It is that even a fine actor needs a good co- star to play off. Otherwise even his/her best efforts will be dampened, like the sound in a hall with bad acoustics. I think this is what is going to happen to their scenes together from now on.

As for your clever explanation in bold violet, it is plausible, which is not surprising, for you, my dear, could sell a refrigerator to an eskimo!😉

But still the transition, given Rudra's aggressive stance earlier, is abrupt and unconvincing. Just because he feels responsible for her is no reason for him to be mooning all over the place like a Majnun, and gazing teary-eyed after her, instead of trying to blackmail her - perhaps by giving his own kasam? - into showing a modicum of good sense and not exposing herself to being kidnapped all over again. If that happens - and I am sure Balivesh has not yet run out of goons! - what is she going to do, and Rudra either for that matter?

Next, Rudra does not seem to be even thinking of all that his father has told him, but is wandering around aimlessly like a lost soul. Does he not even worry about the gigantic problem about which he has been briefed? Or is it enough for him to swallow his Daadi's pabulums and follow her around like Mary's little lamb? And have her utter soothing words about how Maya will come back to him? Is this all that he can think of?

Last night, when Thappadiya Mai was listing out to him those for whom he was to take revenge, I felt like telling her, Lady, you are sadly behind the times, for our bachuwa has foresworn revenge and is now going to concentrate on marham patti for apne, the apne being as per his Daadi's definition!

I really wish Naanu had not stopped Balivesh from launching another attack on the Brahma Nisht Panth straightaway. That would have taught our oh-so-sure-of herself Daadi a neat lesson about the real world. And her pota as well.

My heart goes out to Shivanand, now faced with a danger far greater than what he had imagined at first, with this albatross of a mother around his neck, and a son, the shreshtatam garud, who is dragging his feet as far as his garuda status and his mission are concerned.

Oh well, it is early days yet, with 120 episodes and 80 to go, but as of now, Shivanand is the one that I feel closest to.

Appu, poor gAuti has to emote enough for both of them, that's why their scenes are a little cold, but it was nice.

The love - he is still not reached a point of recognizing it as romantic love. She is tugging at his heart but for him at this point she is responsibility because maimui said so, and she has fallen for him, which he hasn't yet fully comprehended.

The woman who has seen the world, has understood it, who knows when to hold and when to let go. She might not be as educated as Dadi or Shiva but her wisdom defies the very knowledge which dadi and shiva profess to know and are fighting with each other.

Good point Sruthi, about TM...

Which leads me to interesting point about Rudr in this show. While he is the scion of the BrahmNisht panth, born into a family with a legacy of education & book learning, as we can see from the Sanskrit-couplet-quoting Dadi and the erudite Siva, Fate plucked Rudr out of that environment and placed him with MaiMui and UdiyaBaba who were founts of earthy wisdom and straight-from-the-heart people.

So there are two sets of influences in Rudr's life and an interesting study in contrast between them. When push comes to shove maybe we'll see why it was destined to be so (by the writers 😉 )
