It has dozens of rooms, an endless supply of hot water, food and entertainment and a team of completely invisible staff to keep it functioning!
RK must be doing extremely well as a farmer. What does he grow? Money on trees?
And why isn't he married? Surely there is an endless supply of eligible women in the surrounding farms just waiting to pickle his jams, and tend to the cows and help roll the hay for winter!
When they said a farmhouse, I was expecting the guests to double up on the beds and the kids to spread out in the hall in sleeping bags and blankets, and a long line for the bathroom each morning!😆
I want to visit this farmhouse! I have been on many sheep farms and dairy farms in New Zealand. But I have never seen anything like RK's farmhouse!!😃 I am sure it doesn't smell like a woolshed either!!!

Its RK's resort ... farm house in India i think are mainly built for vacation purposes. Farm is just an excuse.
My grandfather built a farm house too...but now his children and grandchildren go and chill over there like its a resort, including myself...just upgraded.

Well thanks for the explanation! I love that! A farm house is actually a holiday home or country house really. It is amazing how these things about another country and culture are only understood if you have visited there.
Can you please explain the reason why Ragini was a little ruffled by the men having a drink in the evening, saying Jignish's parents are also present at the "farmhouse"?
And that comment about Punjabi and Gujarati in connection to drinking? Gujaraties don't drink alcohol? Jignish's dad was right into it!
I thought alcohol was frowned upon only in Pakistan. In India also?

I hope I will not be bashed for what I am writing here. But in general Punjabi's drink in marriages and parties while Gujarati's don't. Especially Gujarati Jain families don't drink and are usually orthodox. So she is concerned that Nishi's in-laws might mind seeing the men drinking.

However Jignesh's dad explained how he does sneak a drink or two mixing it in soda(coke) pretending to be drinking coke so his mom doesn't complain. He also mentioned how he gave his wife also some drink in the pretext of coke.

Depends on where you are in India whether you get frowned upon for drinking or not. In my opinion social drinking in India has got more acceptance now than it did some years back.

well farmhouses are just country houses in India. Sometimes there is a farm attached to it. sometimes there isn't .
These people have hotels. So naturally they have a farmhouse which is mostly like a country house.

I don't think it is commercial but may be exclusive weddings take place there especially nowadays when there is destinaton weddings being the in thing.

These farmhouses sometimes have a farm attached to it. This one may be having one too.

Like the ranchers in North America

Certainly there won't be cows .

This farmhouse is beautiful with a well equipped kitchen , lots of rooms down the corridor and upstairs.

I was surprised about the staff though. Probably because it is the wedding they must have arrived as part of the wedding arrangements

I wonder what the ladies cook in the kitchen though. When the staff prepare everything what do the ladies prepare in the kitchen?

There seems to be a bar too.

It is the in thing nowadays to own a farmhouse in the outskirts of the city.

Everyone goes there to relax. I guess Karan and Dimpy own so many hotels everywhere . I guess they own farmhouse as part of the business.

RK seems to be managing it.

I wonder how there are so many unmarried men there as well as women and they are all old.

Like RK, Aman, Pam, Nivedita , dr Devika, you take anyone they are unmarried and "eligible" I wonder how they stay unmarried for so long that too in India.

The same question even arised in my mind then later i dismissed it . In the news I have seen that Salman Khan always celebrated his birthdays in the farmhouse so probably this is how his farmhouse would be . Like a 5 star hotel with free flow of food ,entertainment and staff

Well thanks for all your responses and answers to my questions.
I find Indian soap operas are a huge window into the culture of that country! And it also helps me greatly improve my understanding of the language!
More than the romance or the characters, I enjoy the "Indian-ness" of the everything in a soap! The customs are so endearing.
And it throws up some very interesting use of certain English words.
For example, they always have an interesting way of using the word, "tension" when someone is tense or distressed or upset. They say "fresh" when someone needs to freshen-up after a long journey and the word "cabin" to refer to an office. Why cabin? An office is not a ship!
The class system is also very interesting. Specially as Pam is so strident about it - she is high class, Ragini is middle class.
Since class is based on income and wealth, Neil is high class as he is very highly paid as cardiac surgeon, but Ragini should also be highly paid as the Admin Head of a private hospital. That is a six-figure job. Then why is she middle class?
I find the class thing more confusing than it should be.

Oh yes, you are so right!
The stairs coming down into a massive living room is Vikram's apartment in ADHY and in this show, it is the farmhouse with the open kitchen! Also used as the main stairway at Dr. Aman's hospital!
😆😆
