Throngs of Indians and Americans stood in a long line for hours to catch a glimpse of Bollywood's golden couple Abhishek and Aishwarya, who turned up with director Mani Ratnam for the red carpet special in Los Angeles organised by Living Splendour.
The newly weds were cootchie-cooing — either holding hands or Aishwarya holding on to her husband in what seems to be their trademark clutch. Joking and cracking inside jokes or just plain glowing in each other's company they spoke to the international media about their film
Said a visibly radiant Aishwarya, "This film has extra special memories and as I was working with Mani Ratnam who was the first director I had ever worked with. My husband proposed to me at the premiere of this film and now we are married and in Los Angeles together."
At the discussion with the audience of the film after the screening when asked on why she chose to act in Guru, she said "I love the character I am playing in the film," to which Abhi joked, "I thought you took the role to spend more time with me!"
Abhishek said Ash was an outstanding actor and rubbished inaccuracies of media reports saying, "She is one of the most down to earth actors I know. And she gives her blood and sweat for her films." He went on praising her for almost ten minutes until she stopped him saying, "Baby, I already said yes."
When Aishwarya Bachchan was asked why she had changed her name on the credits of all her forthcoming movies, she simply said, "That's my name and that's what will be on the credits."
