LONG AWAITED 'MARIGOLD' THIS FRIDAY

In the News This Friday will witness two new movies in theaters. One is Salman Khan starrer 'Marigold' and the other is Rakhi Sawant and Anupam Kher starrer 'Buddha Mar Gaya'. While 'Marigold' is a musical romantic comedy, 'Buddha Mar Gaya' is a black comedy. Let's see what's 'Marigold' all about. Here a young American woman who travels to India and finds that her life is transformed by her experiences and adventures there.
She is Marigold Lexton (Ali Larter) and reaches India with no luggage and a bad attitude. She is stranded in Goa as her low-budget Hollywood movie falls apart for lack of funds. She gets cast in a small role in a Bollywood movie . Eager to prove herself, she takes the help of choreographer Prem (Salman Khan). She falls for Prem, but discovers that Prem is going in for an arranged marriage to an Indian girl, Janvi (Nandana Sen). She is angry with Prem, but Janvi clarifies that Prem doesn't love her. Incidentally, Marigold's boyfriend, Barry (Ian Bohen), arrives in India and finds Marigold emotionally drained but still very much in love with Prem. So, he decides to let love prevail, and Marigold and Prem are brought together and Janvi and Barry follow their own romantic journey. On the other hand, 'BUDDHA MAR Gaya' is about dead bodies, mucho moolah and funerals… Laxmikant Kabadiya alias LK is one of India's richest industrialists; he has risen from a scrap seller (Kabadi) to a construction magnate. LK tries to raise Rs 50,000 million through an IPO. But, his family can't stop salivating at the thought of all that money. Suddenly, LK dies while copulating with a starlet who's aspiring to become the heroine of a film that LK plans to produce... The family is afraid that no one will subscribe to their shares. So, the family on its guru's advice decides to hide the LK death till the shares are all sold out. Every time they're want to announce LK's death, fate forces them to keep his death a secret for few more days. Then they announce the death of a fictitious friend or a LK relative .and stage fake funerals. Thus, they generate dead bodies and worse, getting the dead LK to make appearances at these funerals…However, an inquisitive and greedy servant, the Prime Minister's fixer, a procurer of dead bodies, and also internal jealousies within the family make things worse... In spite of world littered with dead bodies, body parts, unending greed, corruption, funerals, ice cubes and a femme fatale..., the movie makes the viewers go on laughing until they have a stomach ache . As in the past Salman starrer may hit the box office , leaving the lower strata of society to watch Bollywood's sexy Rakhi Sawant starrer 'Buddha Mar Gaya'. |
