I bought her a bouquet of roses, a thorn was all I got
I was blind and foolish in love,so I locked it in my heart
I merrily strolled to the seashore, and threw the keys away
Little did I realise,the pricking was here to stay
It was a small prick then,but it began to grow
It tore away my heart,there was just a void now.
Years after, you came by ,and refused to go away
I had no heart now ,where would you stay ?
I went back to the seashore, but the keys were now lost
I had bound my future,to chains of my past
I felt I had lost it all,but you opened the lock
You took away the thorn, and healed my ailing heart
A miracle had happened,my pain you could share
You could lift my burdens,my cross you could bear
I noticed though, that those were not my keys
How did my heart then open with such ease ?
Why hadn't I known,that what I locked away in pain
Can only be opened , by your love again ?
