Why did Salman agree to do KKHH?

It was essentially a special appearance and Salman was never really friends with Karan as such, was he?

It's true that people appreciated his performance in the film but it was never going to do much for his career. So why did he do this supporting role? Did SRK convince him?

According to the tenth anniversary documentary of KKHH.

At a Chunky Pandey hosted party Salman himself went to KJO and said he would do the role without hearing or even being offered it 😆😆😆 He did cause he thought Yash Johar was a nice dude.
