Neil moves to america with his sister pam and he is a big doc there . Although he has the money as his heart was broken during the divorce he does not believe in relationships. He never cares for his children and totally gets immersed in his work andPam brings them up . There is also a girl suhani living with them .who we don;t know till now how she is related.
Ragini on the other hand works as a head of administration in a hospital that is owned by Dr Aman. Although Dr Aman is a doctor and surgeon all he cares is about food. He has great regards for Ragini and does not do anything without consulting her.. Ragini brings up her children in a middle class environment as that is what she can afford. Living with her are her grandmother , mother and a servant who is part of the family.
Ragini's daughter is in love with Jignesh . However Ragini is not happy with her daughter getting married so early as that is the mistake she committed. Neeshi and Jignesh figure out maybe that Neeshi's dad will be able to convince Ragini so they call him. In the meantime in Dr Aman's hospital there is a patient who needs urgent specialized treatment and Dr Neil is the specialist . Neil comes to india.
When he is going from the airport to his friends Karan's house his car knocks out a scooter . Its Neeshi and Jignesh in that and they end up badly hurt. Neil rushes them to the hospital and performs surgery on Neeshi not knowing its his daughter. There are couple of hits and misses with Rags too but they don;t meet. Neeshi however meets him in the airport and tells him who she is . Neel says he will talk to RAgini and goes back to America.
He talks to Ragini and she then decides to go ahead with the wedding. Nishi also wants her father to come for the wedding.
Dr Aman loves Rags but she just considers him as his boss. However when they are in a store Karan and Dimpy see Dr Aman and Rags together and misunderstand them as a married couple. This message gets conveyed back to Neil.
Agam and Sunhani want to go for the engagement . Neil does not want them to feel odd around Rags and her husband so he and Pam also come ot India for the engagement. Although Suhani does come to India she is sent back to America by Pam before she can meet Rags.
Jignesh;s dadi is quite strict and wants all the customs and pooja's to be done properly. Due to this Rags and Neil end up being together to do them. This angers Pam who decides to bring her friend Nivedita to help Neil move on with his life.
Agam and Arav are twins and its their birthday and Pam decides to have a party. Agam calls Arav who comes with Shilpa . Arav like Shilpa but Shilpa is materialistic. So once she see sees Agam's richness she is floored. Ranbir decides to use Arav against Rag and to do that he take Shilpa for a drive. They have an accident and Shilpa is left fighting for her life.
Instead of getting Ranbir arrested Niv makes Karan take the blame. Eventually Rags gets to know from Arav that it was Ranbir's fault so she goes and makes her complaint and Ranbir is arrested. However later on Shilpa gives the statement that she was driving so Ranbir comes out. Pam gets Neil and the family to go back to America. But in the airport Agam tells everyone that Ranbir was the culprit and due to his actions Jignessh's dadi cancelled the wedding.Neil is shocked to learn that Ranbir is at fault. He goes to Jignesh's dadi and apologies and gets the wedding back on track.
Nishi tells Neil that she wants a destination wedding so that they all can stay together under one roof. Neil indirectly manages to get Rags to say yes. They end up going to Karan's farmhouse for the wedding . Its the same farmhouse where NeiRa got married and have lots of memories associated with.
