Now that he's becoming a father, Zayed Khan's wife has forced
him to sell off his bike

Marriage and fatherhood is a big responsibility and former wild child Zayed Khan has learnt that the hard way. Recently, the actor had to bow down to pregnant wife Malaika's demand to dispose off a prized bike. However, barely a few days later he got himself a new one.

When Malaika learnt about this, she refused to let the new bike be brought into their bungalow compound.

Being responsible

Says a source, "Malaika hates bikes. She feels it's dangerous to ride them here. Even Sanjay and Zarine Khan weren't impressed with Zayed's exploits and wanted him to discard the bike, but her never listened.

Finally, Malaika put her foot down. Zayed will be a father next year, so it's time he takes responsibility."

Malaika admits Zayed sold off his bike. "There are so many potholes here and even gutters are not covered properly. Plus, so many people indulge in drunken driving and do not follow traffic rules.

It's dangerous," she says. Malaika knows men love fast cars and faster bikes, but she won't put up with it. "It was tough for Zayed to sell off that bike, especially since he got it before we were married, but I will not let emotions precede safety," she emphasises.

As for what happened to the new bike, she says, "I didn't let it inside our compound. I've made it clear that he'll have to do without a bike.

Earlier, he used to take off on it with Fardeen (Khan), (DJ) Aqeel and others, but that's all over now," she says firmly. Malaika and Zayed are expecting their first child early next year.
