I m not even kidding, i m so excited abt the scene where Nachiket fights the gundas n their ride back that i wrote something which doesnt do justice to what i imagined. Nevertheless hope u fab writers read it n comment, thanks!
Nachiket and Ragini are in the car, on their way back to the
farmhouse after their encounter with the goons. Nachiket had a good time
bashing them, it was his way of letting his anger and frustrations out about
what his life has now come to and how he can never get Ragini back into his
life, ever. Not at least as his wife. She will always be the love of his life, and
the mother of his children but somebody else's wife.
"Woh tumhare friends thay? " Ragini questioned Nachiket. "Tumhe
kya lagta hai Ragini?"
"No I am just asking kyunki Tum unke saath aise baatein kar
rahe thay jaise barso se jaante ho" Ragini is angry, "Pehele tumne unhe maara,
phir samjhaya, aur phir humari divorce ki story tak unhe batadi, WOW!"
"Haan toh ismein problem kya hai, they were thinking that we
are husband and wife" Nachiket said it as if he didn't like the fact that they
were referred to as man and wife.
"So you had a problem with them thinking that we are husband
and wife?" Ragini was offended.
"Of course, why would I want anyone to think that someone
else's wife is my wife?" Nachiket knew he was being rude but he still went on "Besides
you should be happy that I clarified it with them, why would you want to be
associated as the wife of an AYAASH'." Ragini wanted to ignore but her ego
didn't allow her to she continued anyway, "Why would I care about you giving
clarification about our relationship to a bunch of goons who were trying to rob
us?"
Nachiket chuckled secretly, she had a point.
"Woh sab main nahin jaanta, I just don't like being linked
to married women" Nachiket enjoyed teasing her.
"Haan tumhe toh sirf unmarried, aur tumse umar main bahut young
women main interest hai for example, Nivedita?" She felt a sense of relief
taunting him back.
"Excuse me, she's interested in me and I am single, so whats
the problem?" Nachiket questioned but didn't wait on her response instead went
on...
"Please don't be jealous, you have no right to be jealous
anymore, you are not Mrs. Nachiket Khanna you are Mrs. Malhotra, main tumhara
husband, Dr. Aman nahin hoon..."
Ragini had enough of
him and his taunts, she chose to just shut up. Nachiket felt a sense of
victory.
Ragini turned the car stereo on, listening to music seemed
like the best option at the moment.
"...maine kiya tera intezaar, itna karo na mujhe pyar"
Ragini and Nachiket look at each other. Nachiket, "Change
the song..."
"Kyun?, I like it."Ragini quickly responded.
"This song is such BS, women don't wait on their men... they
just move on" Nachiket was back at it,
Ragini didn't want to argue, she just changed the track.
He enjoyed having her in his front seat, all to himself. He
couldn't be vocal about it, but he was happy, those few moments made him the
happiest man. Reminded him of the times they went on long drives, where he
would sometimes be in a bad mood and she would let him vent or go out for some ice-cream,
just the two of them. He knew he talked too much and may have hurt her
feelings, but she hurts him too, all the time. He looked at her, couldn't help
but flash his dimples at her with a cute smile. She looks back at him with her
eyes full of love and concern, a tear escapes her eye.
Nachiket was confused, "kya hua tum mujhe aise kyun dekh rahi
ho" "kya zaroorat thi tumhe unse ladne ki? Agar tumhe kuch ho jata toh?" Ragini
tried to control herself but she couldn't. She broke into tears. She slowly
moved her hand to reach his, the piece of cloth that she had used as a bandage
around the huge cut he got during the brawl was now drenched in his blood. Just
when she was about to take his hand into hers, he brushes it away and moves his
left hand back onto the steering wheel.
"Dekho Ragini, tum please yeh rona bandh kar do...I am fine,
waise bhi agar mujhe kuch ho jata, toh tumhe koi farak nahin padta"
Ragini is visibly hurt, "What do you mean by mujhe koi farak
nahin padta?" He pissed her off.
"Its means, you don't give a shit about me, Ragini, so
please yeh drama bandh kar do, you remarried, you moved on"
Nachiket looked at her right in the eye when he said those
words. He realized he shouldn't have been so direct. It was as if he was
accusing her for moving on in life, she had every right to remarry. They were
divorced, she asked for a divorce and he gave it to her. He didn't fight for
her, he didn't prove himself innocent. She still thinks that he was wrong, so
could he really blame her for moving on?
Ragini couldn't say anything to that. She didn't want to
argue with him, she had already hurt him enough. She was more worried about his
wounded hand, "Look Nachiket, I don't want to argue with you, we need to go to
a clinic right now" She grabs his hand as its steering the wheel, he slowly
lets go of his hand into hers.
She takes his hand into her lap, his touch truly was magic. She slowly opens the cloth to look at his wound. He is looking away all this time, he didn't want to be affected by her love and
concern. He was being indifferent. He felt her tear drops on his fingers and he
turned towards her. He knew his Ragini couldn't fake those tears, but she wasn't his Ragini anymore.
He lived 15 years without her but now has to live the rest of his life without her as well. At least then, he lived with the hope that they will get back together someday, but now there was no hope.😭
