Petty cash........ What a joke

I am an Accountant, as per my knowelde not a single company or properitorship keeps 5 lakhs petty cash. you cannot make payment above 20,000/- in cash. so d payment mode is cheque.And petty cash is used to make small small payments.

Even in mid size ccompanies they used to keep 3 to 4 lakes as a cash

i m a student of chartered accountancy and when i go on audits of companies or banks i have always seen that the keys are not so carelessly kept in the drawers. infact there are 2 sets of keys .. 1 set with the manager and 1 with the cashier , and unless and until both the sets of keys are not put together in the key slot one cannot open the locker so i think the cvs must first get their facts straight before showing such nonsens because the set of viewers of YHM are not fools we are well educated and have a sense of corporate world. we are not going to believe any nonsense stuff they show just for the sake of Trps.. hehehehe my 2 cents..!!

NO, things shown are not bloopers except for the fact that the keys will be left in the drawers. Companies do keep petty cash to the tune of Rs. 5 lakhs and the key will be in possession of the Cashier (Cash chest not Locker) and he will carry his keys with him. In case of emergency and he can not attend the office on any given day, he will send the key to the manager with all the details of cash. Normally everyday while closing the account, they will check the cash on hand and the Ledger and will sign in the register mentioning the amount including denominations. In this case, since all the notes looked new & Rs.1000 face value , may be if they lodge complaint, it is easy to rack the culprit. be it Shagun or the fraud doctor.
