Tabu to play cop in Nishikant Kamat's remake of Drishyam

We already know that Ajay Devgn has, for the time being, dropped his directorial project Shivaay and is doing Nishikant Kamat's drama thriller that is the remake of the Malayalam superhit Drishyam.

We have now learnt that the outstanding actress Tabu has given her consent to play a prominent role of a cop in the film. While Nishikant is on the lookout for the actress to play the lead opposite Ajay Devgn, Ajay's fans can now be thrilled that the film will go on floors end of February and will be released this year itself.

PERFECT!

The role of the cop needs a good actor like Tabu.I hope they cast someone of Ajay or Kajol's age opposite Ajay unlike the kannada remake where a young girl was passed off as the wife of a 40 yr old

Sounds interesting...I am getting the feeling Sujoy Ghosh's Suspect X will be shelved soon.

Wasn't there reports of Ekta not allowing the makers of Drishyam to sell the hindi movie rights?

The SI film Drishyam seems like an unofficial remake of the book/movie Suspect X...or very heavily inspired from it with some changes. Probably the makers deny the similarities...and maybe they didnt know of the Japanese version before they made theirs..who knows, but anyways Ekta bought rights of Suspect X and doesn't want Drishyam remade. But looks like she wasn't able to stop it from happening. So either she will shelve Suspect X or make it super fast so it can come out before Drishyam. 😆

So Drishyam will be made in Hindi too , i havnt watched the other versions but the original Malayalam version was what i like to call perfection redefined ! ⭐️ The bestest(?) most awesome movie i saw in recent times .. ⭐️

The role of the cop requires someone of Tabu's calibre , so happy with this casting , cant say the same for Ajay Devgan though he too is a good actor but i so wanted to see Salman attempt something like this , it would have been such a pleasant surprise but then again when was the last time Salman dared to act , he is stuck in his stereotypical mindless masala flicks 🤢

Looking forward to this film .. 😃

There are casting troubles with SuspectX. Plus SAK's market is down. Ajay's had flops too but his situation isnt as bad as SAK's. So maybe they are shelving Suspect X. Lets see!

Btw between SuspectX and Drishyam..Drishyam is more suited to Indian scenario and sensibilities.
