Yet again, a very special day was about to come when Deba di, Sonali di, me and another friend of mine started planning for the big day. Although as per our calendar the anniversary falls on the 21st of the month, Fireworks believes it to be on the 28th January and so we too decided to visit the sets on the same date. It being a weekday was again a problem for me, considering my office, but somehow I managed a leave on the last moment.(Although my family and many friends got angry with me as I could take leaves on Daya sir's bday and CID's bday but not on my own bday!😛😆)Also, Deba di prepared a very beautiful collage for the occasion that Sonali di got laminated (almost of her height 😉). In the meantime, my mom and me arranged for a cake and a customized bouquet that was in the shape of "CID". The day arrived, and we were told by Fireworks to reach by 10.30 in the morning as they had decided to have a short celebration at Bureau before the 3 different units could go out for their shooting. So with some difficulty we managed to reach bureau by 10.30 a.m. and were soon given seats to sit inside our very newly decorated bureau. Honestly, apart from the cleanliness and newly painted walls, I would have preferred the older bureau anytime! Anyways, the bureau was decorated with some balloons. While we were waiting for others to come, we met some of the CID writers and they congratulated us like they were congratulating everyone else associated with CID. After sometime, Christy Mam entered with the special cake that they had arranged for the occasion, followed by Singh sir himself and the entire cast and crew of CID! Everyone greeted us with smiles and handshakes and congratulated us for the special day. Satam Sir asked about my dad and told us to convey his message to him that he missed him on this special day. Suddenly the whole atmosphere of the bureau changed in a fraction of second. Everyone seemed to be in a festive mood. Looking at the cheerful faces of the cops was a treat. Seeing them so happy and pulling each other's legs! What else could have we asked for?😊
Anyways, moving on, we saw them cutting the cake together and then opening champagne bottles! Daya sir then made everyone drink one sip (thankfully except us!😛). After this we told Satam sir that we had brought a cake as well and wanted them to cut it. Satam sir announced it in the room and asked someone to bring the cake to the table. It was soon arranged...But we decided to hand over the bouquet first. So me and Sonali di brought the huge bouquet and handed it over to them (Satam sir and Singh sir held it firmly) and raised it high for everyone to see and click pictures. Followed by this, Christy mam, Ansha Mam, Janvi mam, Shraddha mam along with me and Sonali di cut the cake. We then brought the laminated frame and handed it over to the cops. Satam sir and Aditya sir unwrapped it and seemed so happy to see the beautiful collage. They analyzed it closely and appreciated it whole heartedly. Satam sir and Singh sir started planning about where to keep the frame, Satam sir wanted it in their make up room and Singh sir in the office (Although finally, Satam sir's wish was granted and the frame was put up in the make up room😃). Soon after this, silence fell across the room and Singh sir was about to start his speech. He said he would like Satam sir to say something this time rather than he himself doing all the talking like always. Satam sir simply says that he feels so proud being a part of CID and that he still feels it was just yesterday that the show had started. Singh sir made fun of Satam sir's habit of using slangs and how his habit has increased with time. Also how Satam sir's hairs are increasing with time. All of us have a good laugh about it and Aditya sir adds that they are all going back in time and the best example for that is Freddy Sir. Singh sir then narrates the story of how Satam sir had helped him start this show. Following this, Singh sir starts narrating the story of how he brought Aditya sir to the show. How he loved a thin man's performance in Satya and immediately decided to bring him to CID. He also adds that they had to put in a lot of efforts to convince Aditya sir for a tv show. Aditya sir then joins Singh sir in the narration and says that one should never think too high of himself and make stupid promises. He says he had initially said he would only shoot for 10-20 episodes and leave but look at him now! He adds that he had once heard that Singh sir was an extremely strict director and so he didn't want to work with him. But joining Fireworks has been the best thing that has ever happened to him. After this, it was Daya sir's turn. He narrates his experience on the audition day. One surprising thing that we came to know was the fact that both Aditya sir and Daya sir didn't want to join CID but somehow landed up here :P And surely this has been the best thing for them as well as for us.😊😊
Okay Daya sir's speech was quite long and perfectly explained. Like my mom said, Daya sir could have been a great politician 😛😆
Apart from sharing his experience about his first episode in CID where he was asked to bring his own suit and he had managed to bring a 6 year old suit that he had once worn on his sister's wedding, Daya sir says that there was a time when he was about to be thrown out of CID but thankfully that didn't happen. Pradeep sir's comment that thanks to the suit Daya sir landed up in CID made everyone laugh. Daya sir finally sums up the journey of the show by saying that the main reasons behind its success lies with the dedicated fans (...and the best part being him taking our names in front of everyone! He mentioned how we are so much dedicated, how we never fail to bring a smile to their face, or how we take gifts for them on every special occasion no matter what, or how people like us from all across the country never miss an opportunity to make them feel special. He also says that its not because I have shifted to Mumbai now that we have brought gifts for them, but even when we are in Kolkata, we fly down from Kolkata and bring gifts on behalf of every fan. He adds that even he is a fan of Amitabh Bachchan but till date he has never even bought a "chaddi" for him but we fans leave no stone unturned to make them feel special and that they feel blessed to have such loyal and dedicated fans!😳😳😳Thank you sir for your kind words, but honestly, you guys deserve all our love !) Next he talks about God's blessings that have been one of the major reasons for the show's success. Next was the bosses i.e. Singh sir and Pradeep sir whose support has been ultimate. The crew members, fireworks people, everyone associated with the show have been like a family and worked day and night for making this day possible. And finally the amazing team that has sticked together for so many years have been one of the major reasons for the success.
After this, we heard Narendra sir and Freddy sir give a wonderful speech as well. Narendra sir also said that he doesn't know how so many years just passed by. I must say, he uses such lovely words to express his feelings! Wow ! A wonderful orator yet again👏 Dinesh sir too narrates how he landed up with the role in CID and how he feels blessed being a part of the show. Following this, we hear speech by every other cop , director, writer, Christy mam as well as the very loyal crew members of the show who have sticked to the show since its early years and have contributed to its growth. Hrishi sir makes a lovely point by saying that the fan following that CID has is also because of the humbleness of the greats like the famous five and that is something that is not easily found in today's world. Couldn't agree more Hrishi Sir😊
Next what happened was funny 😛 They asked us to say something as well and like always I was pushed by the rest to go and speak. I did, although I was extremely nervous and blank about what to say, but somehow I managed to speak few lines and make them realize 2 things for sure - one i.e. the show has changed a LOT ! and two i.e. we cannot imagine our lives without CID anymore. Okay after this, the speeches came to an end, and it was time for photoshoots. We clicked many photos, selfies, etc etc... had small conversations with Ansha mam, Shraddha mam and Janvi mam... We told Ansha mam that she is one of the best female cops after Asha and Tasha to which she humbly replied that she can not be compared to someone like Asha and she feels honored to know that we like her. Janvi mam too was sweet enough and thanked us many times for our presents and for being the kind of fans that we are. Hrishi sir thanked us for the video that we had left for him on his birthday. He said he was not told by anyone that the cd was from our side, but he could surely guess it. We told him that it was made by our very own Debasree di and he conveyed his regards for her and for each one of us. After all the photo sessions and all, it was time for the cops to leave for their respective shoots and so Aditya sir, Hrishi sir, Freddy sir and many others left for their units and Daya sir and Satam sir stayed back along with the forensic docs.
We bade them all goodbye and clicked pics with Christy mam and Santosh bhai. Sonali di made a point to ask Christy mam about missing bullet case and it was very sweet of Chrsity mam to call up in the office and try to arrange for the episode. She said she will try to get the episode in a CD and give it to us. After this, we took some autographs of Narendra sir, Aditya sir, Satam sir for some of our friends and relatives before they could go for their shoots. Following this, we went to the forensic lab and sat there watching Daya sir, Narendra sir, ACP Sir, Shraddha mam and Vansh shoot a scene at the forensic lab. Yet again, it was a treat to watch them shoot together. As soon as Satam sir saw us sitting in the lab he was like "Shogonika and family is here! I have to careful (considering his habit of using slangs :P) and he then smiles naughtily and says Please don't mind Shogonika ! :D Following this, we saw them shooting some scenes. Being excellent actors it didn't take them much retakes to shoot the short scenes at the lab. Although Narendra sir was extremely unwell and was feeling feverish, he continued the shoot and didn't let anything stop him from giving his best shot! Hats off, indeed. One more thing I noticed was the amazing chemistry between Narendra Sir and Satam sir! A treat to watch 😊
After watching the shoot for sometime, we decided to leave as we had some other plans and sitting there for any longer might have been a hindrance to their shoot as the space was quite less. So we bade them all goodbye and left... Before leaving Daya sir came to us and asked us to stay back for lunch but we humbly refused and thanked him for being so kind.
So that was the end of our day with CID on the special occasion of their 17th Anniversary. Needless to say, it has been one of the best experiences for all of us as here we felt so much like a family, as if we could relate with everything they said about the show and themselves. On top of that, the way they acknowledged our love and dedication towards them, in front of everyone was extremely touching. Like I said there, no matter how much CID changes, no matter what flaws are shown in the episode, some of us will surely continue watching the show till the very end, not just because its our habit now but because it's a part of our lives and we cannot imagine our lives without it. And surely, one of the biggest reasons for this is the fact that the entire cast, as well as people from fireworks have always proved themselves to be extremely humble, kind and gentle people and that is something very rarely found these days. I pray that these nice people get everything they deserve in their life and remain happy and remain the same lovely person that they already are.
Okay, now that I am done I will be waiting for Sonali di's version of experience as well 😃 and of course waiting for all your comments 😊😊
