I loved everything about Ruhi's speech today except for the part where she compared Ishita to Yashoda Maiyya and Shagun to Devaki Mata. Devaki Ma was a great woman. The only reason she gave up baby Krishna was to keep him alive from her evil brother, who ruthlessly killed all her other babies. Devaki and Vasudev were imprisoned in jail. They had no power or control over their future, let alone the ability to protect their children. They were shackled in chains. Kans had killed all six of their previous children and when baby Krishna was born, he was their only hope. How could any parent have done differently? Vasudev took baby Krishna to Nand and Yashoda only to keep him safe, not because he had no love for him.

So to compare an evil woman like Shagun to a great mother like Devaki is an insult. So many television shows and movies do this, I don't get it. Do they not know the story of Krishna's birth? Do they not know that Devaki did not give up Krishna willingly, but only to keep him safe? That is what a mother does. She keeps her child safe at all cost.

As for Yashoda, she is also a great woman no doubt, but she raised Krishna thinking he was her own child. She had no idea he was Devaki's, so she was not really a foster mother either.

Krishna had two great mothers, Devaki and Yashoda. Neither was lesser than the other, so CVs, kindly please do not compare Shagun with Devaki.

Thank god to pointing this out.

I was badly hit by this dialogue - not that m overly religious person but as per mythology Devaki had a very troubled life, n it was unfortunate that She cud not spend her initial years with her child n she saw her children being killed in front of her.

How can Ruhi mouth this dialogue- Yashoda maiyya Devaki ma se acchi thi. 🤪 [:N]

I haven't watched the episode yet but if they did that, it is stupid. Devaki did not leave her child. Vasudev took Krishna away when she was sleeping. I am sure she would have protested before finally agreeing to it because it means that her son will leave. Shagun is nothing like that.

Yes, both of them were great in their own way. Even if Yashoda brought up Krishna thinking he was her own son, her love for him did not grow any less when she found out the truth, and as for Devaki, she sacrificed her baby so that he may escape the fate of her other children and grow up among loving parents. Sacrificing one's child to save their life is not easy, and it's definitely not a reason to criticize someone for it. If anyone was in Devaki's shoes and were given a choice between keeping their child and seeing him killed, or sending the child away so that he may live, any loving parent would choose to keep their child alive, even if they would be sent away.

Yeah, one doesn't have to be religious, just thinking about the situation even as a story fills one with pity for Devaki. It was very poor of the CVs to have Ruhi say this dialogue, because every child who hears this will grow up thinking Devaki Ma was like Shagun, when it was far far far from the truth. Shagun left Ruhi for her own selfish reasons. Devaki sent Krishna away to save his life from her cruel brother. How can Shagun be compared with Devaki?

Actually, Devaki was awake when this happened, but that's not the point. Both of them took a mutual decision to send Krishna to Vasudev's friend Nand Baba's house so that he may escape the fate of his brothers, all of whom were brutally killed by Kansa right after they were born. Devaki and Vasudev saw each and every one of their six infants killed. How could they not send Krishna away to protect his life? There was no room for protesting, because they were imprisoned and had no control over their fates. They could not protect the lives of their six children, so if there was an opportunity to save the life of at least one child, any parent, whether it be mother or father, would grab it.

Krishna himself loved and respected both his mothers equally. He never said one was greater than the other. One mother gave him birth and gave him an opportunity to live a safe life, the other mother raised him with love and care.

Exactly my point.
What Devaki did was out of helplessness.
She had to save her son from the evil around her.
Of course, Yashodha Maiya was very Generous to bring up Krishna, but doesn't mean you'll Compare Devaki to Shagum.
And Shagun, she left Ruhi for a better status, better financial support and to fulfill her shopping and spa dreams which she couldn't do with Raman.

How is it even relating to the Devaki context.

WELL SAID👏
