And perfect timing too, after Soha wed Kunal, so it permanently shut those nay sayers up who questioned his motives of converting Kareena.

Upset Saif asks people to focus on Kareena's work

Ever since she got married to Saif Ali Khan in October 2012, Kareena Kapoor Khan has regularly become the target of certain religious groups, who have used her as the poster girl for Love Jihad' (a controversial term given by religious outfits to a Muslim man marrying a Hindu woman).

Outraged by the concept, Saif feels that his actress-wife is being wrongly targeted by these groups. "People say she has converted. No, she hasn't," he points out.
The 44-year-old Bollywood star believes that the talks of Love Jihad' are actually "regrettable". "These talks - emotionally, intellectually and socially - do not feature in our lives anywhere. The character, wisdom and intellect of such sources should be considered before taking them seriously," says Saif.

He also feels that Kareena should be known for her work more than anything else. "The country should be proud of Kareena's contribution to cinema and society. She has worked for women's rights and better health. She should be celebrated as a symbol of a strong, modern individual," he adds.

Hmm.. So Love Jihad shit is the reason why Kareena has been wearing 'sindoor' lately.

I think more so yes.

But I do recall, she wore sin door also immediately post her wedding.

It was at Rohit Shetty's sister's wedding and that was the first time she sported sin door openly.

Good for him. I would have loved it more if he had said that his or his wife's religious believes are none of anyone's business, as it really isn't. But I think that would have convinced the other side that she really has converted. I think under the circumstances he gave a really good statement.

im more concerned with kareena working for womens rights and health? you'd think shes a social worker and not an actress. how true is this desigal? and when did it happen?

I think he's referring to her work with UNICEF. She's been quite actively involved in it. Especially towards schooling for girls.

Sharmila in a pretty casual interview when asked about saif and her bond also added that Kareena keeps asking her about the work that Snr Pataudi did with the eye hospital. Sharmila said Kareena was very keen to help.

But she is very much still an actress that does some social work on the side lol.
Think Saif's just really worked up in this statement and trying to emphasize that she's an independent woman of today that isn't just dedicated to her career but also helps out in other areas. She's the last person anyone can use as a poster child for a ridiculous concept like love Jihad that implies women are victims of cunniving males
