Story moving slowly...

Recap:

While Priya.. keeps the phone back inside... She hears somebody calling out... Looks around to see if they are trying to reach her... She turns...

Ram leaves Priya's house... Directing the driver to take him to the hotel... Just a few mins away... He asks the driver to stop the car... And reverse a few car lengths... Ram cannot believe ... who he is looking at... she is on the phone... least bothered what is going around her... All those feelings.. he tried to put away... to try and pursue this marriage proposal... come flushing into his mind... he can't take his eyes off her... Almost staring from the car... he rolls down his window.. and instructs the driver... to park on the side... He gets off... meanwhile she has finished the call... He calls out to her... not even knowing her name... She turns...

Chapter 14

Time seemed to stand still... as both of them look at each other... A car drives by... snapping them to reality.. Both not sure of what to do... Priya takes the initiative and crosses the street to speak to Ram...

Priya: Hey...

Ram: Hey...

Both still not sure how to continue this conversation...

Priya: You, here?

Ram not sure how he was going to answer that question... He can't say the exact reason... can he.. lost in his thoughts... And for words..

Priya: You ok??

Ram: Yeah... I am ok... Just visiting some family friends in the area... How about you?

Priya: Nice... I live here.. My house is just up that way...

Before Priya could continue... Ram interrupts her

Ram: Cool... Are you free right now?

Priya is shocked by the question..

Priya: What???? Me free???

Ram: Yeah... I was wondering if you want to join me for some coffee... close by

Priya: She tries to digests what RK has just said... She cannot believe he has asked her for coffee... Should I say yes?? Or No???... wait I was supposed to have reached home... Maa is going to ... oh oh... I am not sure. Hold on.. I had informed my parents I would be home.. they might have something going on.. Let me check with them...

Ram: Ok.. I will wait...

Ram is excited... and anxiously waits that she will say yes... meanwhile, Priya moves away from Ram and calls home...

Priya: Papa...

Sudhir: Beta kahan ho? Sab teek hain... you should have come home.. Kya hua?

Priya: Ek baat puchni thi papa.. Kya Ram abhi tak ghar pe hain? I am late na?

Sudhir: Haan beta.. he had already left when we spoke to last time. Kya hua?

Priya: Maa... naraz hain na?

Sudhir: bahut... Tum chodo... She will be fine...

Priya: Thanks papa... I just met my friend.. papa... Wanted to go for coffee with my friend papa.. isliye wanted to check... if Ram was still waiting...

Sudhir: Tu jaa.. Dinner pe ayegi na?

Priya: I will be home for dinner...

Sudhir: Ok.. have fun... don't worry about Maa.. I will manage...

Priya: Thanks papa.. you are the best...

Sudhir: Chodo.. maska mat mar... jaldi aana... Bye..

Ram is just playing a game on his cell... waiting for Priya to get off the phone with her parents... And hoping she is free... Priya comes near her...

Priya: Hey... playing... eh?? Anyway.. I am free...

Ram: Cool.. That's awesome... We never got a chance to talk during the conference... so when I saw you here... thought of taking this opportunity to discuss some stuff with you...

Priya: Yeah.. Same here..

Ram: Nice.. Shall we? .. Where are we going? I mean I have no idea about a cafe here...

Priya: Oh... yeah... I can direct your driver... There is a cafe coffee day.. about a couple of Kms from here.. that works?

Ram: Yeah... I guess so...

Ram is thinking... How about we go on your Dio??? That would be cool... and just ask the driver to come there...

Priya ..though suggests that... I wonder if I can take him on my two-wheeler... Just that makes her smile... Aane (elephant- kannada) .. on my dio...

But none of this happens... Priya gives the direction to Ram's driver and both reach caf in their respective vehicles...

Both of them settle down in one of the corner tables at the cafe...

Priya: Please...

Ram: Thanks.. nice cafe...

Priya: I like it.. come here often to write stuff..

Ram: Cool...

Waiter comes by for orders... As soon as he sees Priya...

Waiter: Heg idira Ma'am? Nimge usual? (How are you?, Can I get the usual for you?- Kannada)

Priya: nange usual... Sir ge en beku antha keli... aadre English nali(I want my usual.. Ask what Sir needs?but in english- Kannada)

Ram... is just wondering what the two of them were talking about... he only understood.. that Priya may have an usual order... Becoz the waiter seemed to recognize her.

Waiter: What can I get for you Sir?

Ram: I would like a Vanilla Frappe please.. Thank you.

Waiter leaves the two of them...

Priya: Vanilla frappe is good here... nice choice..

Ram: I love it... I had it in a cafe coffee day before...

Priya: Nice...

Ram: What is your Usual???

Priya: ha. Ha... Cappuccino ... Nothing fancy...

Ram: Cool...

Waiter brings their coffee... and both continue their conversation... Priya takes a sip of her coffee...

Priya: Nice... coffee.. love it here

Ram: Nice one here too...

Priya: Back in Bangalore???

Ram: Yeah.. on work...

Priya: Oh... the same person you were meeting the last time...

Ram: Actually no... I meeting a professor tomorrow... at JNCASR institute...

Priya: Cool... If it is ok.. Can I ask who you are meeting with?... Reason is.. I work there...

Ram: Really... Nice... My company's CEO"is in touch and wanted me and my research director to meet Dr Sharma for some new research proposal...

Priya sits there... All blank for a few moments... and starts smiling... Ear to ear... So he did not know my name... weird... Just then an idea pops in her head...

Ram sees this... and is surprised by her reaction... What did I say... I mean... just a name...

What happened?????

Priya: I am sorry... Have you met with Dr Sharma before?

Ram: Actually.. No... I got to know about this meeting this morning... and I am here... Usually this kind of work My friend and CEO.. does this.. I have no idea why he wanted me to come...

Priya: Oh... Ok... You have met Dr Sharma before.. I guess you just did not know the person's name...

Ram: Oh really? How do you know?

Priya: This Dr Sharma was at the conference... Maybe that's why your CEO sent you... Priya is enjoying this... teasing Ram... She has realized the K in RK is Kapoor I wonder what R is???... I should pull it a little longer... His expressions are amazing.. Looking so cute.. being lost...

Ram: Oh... now I see why vikram sent me... Can you tell me more?.. wait... How do you know that I met this person... I mean I was not in any talk or meeting with you in the conference... only during dinner... still confused..

Priya: It was during dinner...

Ram: Oh...

Priya: Ok.. Ok.. I am sorry... I was just enjoying your confused look...

Ram: what???

Priya: Nothing... I am Dr Sharma.. the person you are here to meet...

Ram: What????? Now you are playing with me...

Priya: No... Are you not meeting Dr Sharma... tomorrow morning at 10 AM... with your research director Mr Desai... ?

Ram: Right...

Priya: Yeah... Mr Kapoor... I thought you knew my name.. You said you attended my talk in the conference...

Ram: Actually... I did... Just came a few minutes after the introduction...

Priya: Oh... I guess the same from my side.. I knew you as RK... did not know anything else about you...

Ram: Oh I see... So all this while... you were pulling my leg...

Priya: I am so sorry... I just could not help it...

Ram: It's ok... I enjoyed it too... I am glad we met this way... Tomorrow will be a lot easier...

Both laugh quite a bit about her teasing Ram...It has been about 30 mins or so.. since they have been talking... Priya sees the time.. and realizes if I don't go home for dinner on time.. Maa.. will stop talking to me...Though she does not want to go... Ram also needs to get back to the hotel and meet Mr Desai for dinner...

Priya: Mr Kapoor.. I think.. I need to go now... My parents will be waiting...

Ram: Oh... Actually that is ok with me.. I need to go meet Mr Desai as well..

Priya: Oh... Ok... then I will see you tomorrow at 10?

Ram: Yeah... It was wonderful meeting you Dr Sharma... Take care.. Bye

Priya: Same here Mr Kapoor... Bye..

Each of them walk to their vehicles and drive off to their destinations...
