I am a fan of this character... he is perhaps one of my favourites now.
Today's episode Totally belongs to Vidhaan and his decision to reconsider his marriage plans with Anjali.

He is a modern man- very sorted and knows exactly what he wants. I loved how he took a stand and clearly stated he cannot marry a girl for family-friendship's sake. He is an independent individual and has his own choices too, I liked how he tried to make a point , withoutt disregarding his parents.
he was polite, but firm and decisive.
Best part was, he himself admitted he should not have gotten into this, without having spent enough time with Anjali to know her, He did not selfishly reject the proposal, blaming it on Anjali's expedition plans, but admitted the procedure was a mistake and that they should not have gotten into marriage talks without even knowing each other...

His father's words about two Army families in an alliance , also reflected how most arranged marriages are just about family pride and getting married into the same social status, rather than about personal choices.

Brigadier still amazes me man! I mean , he is such a cringeworthy man! What does he think he is? he says , if vidhaan cant manage his dates for engagement , he will talk to his boss, and arrange for it! as if, anjali has to be married! 😲 He shocks me! Not an iota of regret , or thoughts over Anjali's expedition... No emotion... I dont know what he might do when she finally summits the Everest! He might get a shock or a heart -attack !

Vidhaan today amazed with his perfect answers.. The way he handled the whole mess with his parents looks gentle and genuine.. His approach looks delicate and permissive.. I m glad he opened up when he started to realise things which will not work.. Loved his perfect dialogues for the current happenings.. He knew and his answers not unbiased.. He couldn't get a chance or spacing himself in reading Anjali.. For Brigadier, his cold vibes and stone hearted reactions doesn't makes any sense..!!

Vidhaan actually portrayed a young man of today who has the right set of values but at the same time not afraid to speak his mind. Best thing I liked about him was he told Anjali is a good girl but may not be suited for him and he took the accountability of his action for agreeing to the marriage without thinking much about what exactly he wants in it.
I am liking him so very much. See right decision making at the right time is what I call real sanskaar.
Vidhaan in yesterday epi actually displayed that quality. In our country most EB is done on the name of sanskaar which means for the pride of the family you have to do sacrifice if you are a good person and if you are a bad person well he or she can get away with murder as the sanskaar of good person is expected to be silence for the pride of the family.
I don't know how many had watched EHT. But those of who would have watched know silence of Dev the ML forced on him by his mother in the name of sanskaar plays a critical role in the villain escaping the punishment.
There is a saying " The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict" by Martin Luther King.
But it is a sad fact that it is this neutrality that is encouraged in our culture as sanskaar.

I am loving Vidhaan more and more these days... what a sensible man he is...

he so clearly stated that parents can't take decisions for their children , and at some poinbt it is necesssary for children to take a stand and come out as their own...

Loved the scene...:)

PS: Seems like Vidhaan's mom knows abt Maithili and likes her too...😳

@bold: so true... I love when men have guts to account for their deeds and speak up their mind at the right time... Unfortunately such species are very rare- in TV and in the real world also!

Loved the pretentions of Indian arranged marriage angle that was brought in... Families always strike an alliance based on 'good girl- good boy' thing, that include financial status of both party, status, community etc...nobody bothers if the two people concerned are genuinely willing to be together or not. iN MOst cases, people dnt even spare a thought if they are suited to each other- just have a look at family, money, bank balance, and get married!😆 vidhaan is bold enough to address the fact that he cannot connect with anjali... and its NOT about how Eligible/good a girl she is! 👏

No. shruti, i did not watch Ek hasina thi regularly, though I know the story... Simone singh was the best thing about the show... a mother's desperate attempts to save her son,,,because he is ason, no matter how kamina he can be!😆

Exactly bright-star. Accountability in men is a rare thing. I applaud AG for giving characters like Vidhaan, Mythili and Shika Maa. They are so refreshing and in their own way inspirational also. I have always believed you need not do extra ordinary things to be inspirational. But even your simple actions done at the right time can be a source of inspiration.
Vidhaan did it yesterday and Mythili when she tells him she will now only meet him along with Anjali also show cased a level of maturity that is indeed commendable.
Look at Shika Maa. Instead of crying over her dead son, she becomes the life line for an orphan boy and in his happiness and success she is able to find joy and happiness.

Vidhan's character is fantastic, i loved his honesty n his dialogue,"jab aap apni beti ko pasand nhi karte toh aapka jamai kyu pasand karega"
it was like a slap to jagat
but I still feel that Jagat has some unsolved mystery which will, may be, helps viewers to understand his equation with his daughter.
