SRK steers clear of lifetime achievement awards

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan seems to relate lifetime achievement award to retirement. And the king of romance is in no mood to hang up his boots for another 110 years!

The actor, who has entertained audience with movies like "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Veer Zaara" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...", shared his thoughts over the award at 21st Life OK Screen Awards, held in Mumbai earlier this week.

Shah Rukh said that he is not looking forward to receiving a Lifetime Achievement award for next 110 years at least. He said that wants to stay young, feel young and keep going with his work, as he feels that that there is a long way to go before he plans to retire and give up on acting, said a source from the event.

Putting education before showbiz, the actor also said that he wants his elder son Aryan to focus on his studies first as films can wait.

"It is not a favourable time for him to make his film debut as he is too young," the actor said.

With a lot of hate and negativity spreading around the forum of late, I'm sure this thread won't go down well. lol. But I'm glad he wants to stay clear from lifetime achievement awards. But 10 - 20 years down the line, if he does indeed receive one, then he is one actor that most certainly deeply and sincerely deserves the award! I'm not saying that as a loyal fan, but I genuinely believe he has given the cinema a lot of contributions. Agreed that he doesn't give quality films anymore, but during his peak he gave us some of Indian Cinema's biggest hits. He has created a fan base not only locally in India, but across the world in thousands of countries around the world. After Dilip ji and Amit ji, he will be known for impacting the industry in a way that not many have impacted. He'll be a known legend years down the line. With stardom, there will always be a group that doesn't think he has done anything in the industry. With fame and love and loyalty also comes hatred, jealously, insecurity, and simply critics. But one cannot deny the fact that this man who was nothing before is today's India's most talented actors the industry has ever seen. And that is a fact that no one can take away from him. God bless Shahrukh, his family, his friends, and his fans. And if you don't like him, God bless you too. :)
