Part-2
Time passed Rey and Taani, lived as a happy couple, but Rey knew still she has not totally
overcome her past, the betray of Shivam has made her heart broken, but still Rey had hopes that
someday she will understand his love and reciprocate his feelings. But still it hurts him, Taani's
ignorance, sometimes brings tears in his eyes, he craves for Taani's love, sometimes he do feel
that he will confront Taani, and tell him how much he loves her from years back, but then he back
offs because he wants Taani to feel his love. But now he is worried that within 10 more days
Taani's graduation exam will finish, and they will complete 3 months of their married life, he is
worried that again she will have no work and become depressed, which he doesn't want at any
cost because with college exams she remains busy, rest of the time she fights with him, her cute
antics and fights which keeps her busy, Rey can feel that she is recovering from her depression,
sometimes he purposely fight with her, and make her win, which makes her so happy. Then
when she enjoys her victory over Rey, making faces at him, roaming proudly in the house, he
feels relieved, he feels slowly she is reciprocating, and who doesn't know fights her the first
stage of Love.
One evening while returning back home, Rey bought her favourite black frost ice-cream and her
extra large Cadbury Silk, Taani was too happy seeing this, she wanted to grab it and have a bite,
but then she remembered her equation with Rey, and ignored and went to the room, Rey kept
everything in the fridge, and at night when he woke up, he saw Taani's bed empty, he came down
searching and then when he heard sounds from kitchen, after entering he saw the cutest scene
of his life, Taani sitting on the kitchen top, a ice-cream bowl on her hand eating, with that
munching her favourite silk. Like a kid ice cream stuck on her nose, chocolate on her lips, a cute
5 years kid, along with a grown up girl, Rey's lips went dried he so wanted to taste the ice-cream
and chocolates from her face cheeks and specially on her lips, when Taani saw him, she first
was shocked, but Rey kept on looking at her and smirking, Taani got conscious, she stepped
down, passed Rey as if nothing big has happened and kept the bowls on the sink...and while
passing Rey she said-
T-waise...I didn't want to eat, but bhai kahete hai ki khane ka apman nahi karna cahiyaa (that is
we shouldn't disrespect food).
R-Achha bhai ne sharing nahi sikhaya?? Sharing is caring.
T-Hmm sikhaya hai...but for ice-cream and Cad-bury he said...that we can be selfish.
R-Achha tum to apni bhai ki haar baat mantii ho...nautanki..ab sone calee...yeah kahi aur bhi jana
hai...
T-Hmm calte hai na Ice- cream parlour..woh 24 hrs walee (with a huge smile)
Then both of them busted into fits of laughter...and went to sleep.
That day Taani came tiered from college; she was bit upset and was in deep thought, later Rey
came to know that next day she have to submit her business account project, which he over
hears while she was talking in phone, then Rey remembers that she is weak in accounts, even in
her high school days, before exam Swayam used to sit with her overnight, even once when
Swayam was out of town Rey himself sat with her, making her understand, Rey was sure that this
time due to her big fat ego, she will not ask for help. At night Rey enters in the bedroom and see
her sitting in the bed messed up, her laptop open, books of accountancy scattered here and
there, and she is sitting wearing a wearing a red tank top and a white long skirt, hairs clumsy and
tied with a clutch er...cuteness personified...
First Rey was feeling a strong attraction towards her, he felt like taking her in his arms and
kissing her in her lips, which is making those cute pouts, then he remembered his equation with
Taani, he knew he have to wait, but he was sure that she needs help but she will not voice out.
R- Hmm waise help cahiya kya?
T-I am good in studies, I can help myself. (With attitude and pride)
R-Subject is Accountancy. Soch lo. (and then very slowly) Kuch der baad Ganga Jamuna niklega
ga aakho se.
T- Kya kaha aapne ? aap samaj te kya hai...I need no help...(shouting) No!!! NO!! Nops !!!
R- Dakte hai...NO! No! Nopss!!! Tantrum queen ... fine carry on
She makes a face and turns back and starts typing in her laptop. Rey sits in the couch with a file,
and keeps an eye on her, one hour passed, Rey knew she has not done anything, and when
Taani goes to the washroom, he peeps in the laptop and sees that she has messed up
everything, the clock was showing 1.15 AM, he saw Taani coming back after washing her face
and then she sits with the lappy in her lap taking the support of the bed rest, Rey gets up from the
couch, and goes and sits beside her in the bed , Taani gives her a glaring look, Rey smirks and
pulls the lappy from her and starts the work, Taani, was moving out of the bed, Rey pulls her back
holding her waist, she comes beside her, before she could shout at him,
R- ja kaha rahii ho? Mai project khatam karunga aur tum TV dekhoge...Kunwar Amarjeet Singh ka
dance? Repeats dekhogee dare to dance ka..aur mai tumhara project khatam karungaa??
Waise bhi tum uska dance kam, and body jyada daktii rahi ho...aur pata nahi yeah larka bina
kapro ke kiu dance karta hai??.chup chap baitho mere pass...and try to understand...what I am
doing.
T-Aap na jealous ho? Kunwar...is sooo haandso....
(Befor she could finish her praise for Kunwar...she was stopped by Rey...her drooling over the TV
screen, on Kunwar..he have noticed in these 3 months...and it irritates him to the core.
R-Kunwar tumhara project khatam nahi karega...and jealous my foot!! woh bhi ak dancer
se...baith ke parahii karo...kal explain college mai tumhe karna hai...kunwar ka chant...marks
nahi dilaya ga...samjhiii??
T-(making a teary face ) Mujhe accounts samaj mai nahi ataa...
R-Ha ha very funny aur Kunwar samaj mai ata hai
T-Aap sach mai help karogee??(pouting )
R-kaun karaga tumhara bhai? Sala class 12 mai tumharii accountency ki exam ki daar se mujhe
baitha kar business trip mai bhag gaya tha.
T-aapne parahe tha isliya I got 78/100 bhai parate...to I would have got above 90..
R-Haa very funny...marks tumharee bhai market se kharid kar lata.. above 90...Now come don't
waste time , waise bhi u have to understand, tumhe hii teacher ke samne explain karna paregaa.
Both started working on the project, together forgetting everything and by the time Rey completed
the project, the clock turn 3.30, Rey turned towards Taani and he saw the cutest scene ever, Taani
was sleeping peace fully on his shoulders hugging his chest from the side, soon a smile curved
on his face, he felt like taking her in his embrace, and slipping off to a peaceful slumber, but then
controlling his emotion, he tugged her to bed, keeping the books and laptops away, and then
covering her with a blanket, when he was moving away, he felt a pull on his hand, and when he
turned, he saw a sleeping Taani murmuring,
T-Mujhe daar lagta hai...krishnaji mujhe shivam ki taraha Rey bhi chor ke calejayengee
Rey came back sat on his knees in the floor and caressed her hairs forehead still once again
she falls in deep slumber, Taani cuddled his hand and kept her cheeks on his palm in sleep,
Rey then kissed her forehead and said-
R-I Love u Taani, tumhe kabh bhi apne aap se alag nahi karungaa...bohot jald u will
understand...and I will wait for u, I will be always beside u.
And then he himself dozed off sitting in the floor, head on the bed and his palms below her
cheeks. Early morning Taani woke up and as soon as she opened her eyes she saw his face,
she was staring at him, and soon she remembered how he helped her ..she looked at him and
her eyes swelled up with tear droplets, she was feeling different as if she wants to speak out
something but couldn't she herself was failing miserably to understand what is haunting her, and
soon she leaned forward and just when her lips was to touch his cheeks, he woke up...both were
startled, and for a fraction of a second there was silence and awkwardness, then Taani just
sprand up and said, I am getting late' and ran to the washroom. Rey even went to the washroom
attached to the guest room, to get ready-
In the washroom-
Taani's POV-
Kya kar raha tha mai, I was going to kiss him, but why? Kiu? Yeah kaysa feelings hai...Shivam ki
betray ke baad I was broken, but nowadays Shivam's name also doesen't reminds me
anything...all I can remember is him...shaddi ke raath bhi maine mangalsutra tor diya tha, but
Rey ne mujhe ointment lagayi...kitna purposely unhe hurt karti rahtii hu...but kabhi mujhe loudly
baat tak nahi kartee...humharee relation ki equation bhi bhai ko nahi bataya ...and today I was
sleeping on his palms, (she herself caressed her own cheeks) I was feeling good, I can still feel
the warmth of his palm...its feel so good...kya hoar aha hai mujhe..Am I falling for him,..I can,
whats a big deal after all I am his wife, and .he is so..so....(getting puzzled rather not wanting to
realize) I don't know I just don't know lagta hai...accountancy ki chakkar mai I will become mad.
She took the bath and wrapping herself in the bath robe, came to her closet- Even amongst so
many thoughts her lips curved a little producing a sweet smile when she realised that she called
herself his wife, she remembered his words on their wedding night- -" tum traditional Indian
dresses mai bohot khub surat lagtii ho"and she opened it and took out the dark red anakali suit
which was tempting her from so many days, but because she wanted to irritate Rey she kept it
aside, but suddenly she wanted to look good in front of Rey, she wore it and came down.
Rey was waiting for her in the breakfast table, and was saving her project properly with her name
and Index number...coping it in CD-Rey's mind registered someone's presence and looked
towards the stairs. The world around him stopped the moment he saw her descending down. A
girl in dark red netted anaarkali with a dupatta around her neck. It had silver-white embroidery
around the neck studded with white pearls. Her arms adorned with white and red bangles and
silver danglers were hanging in her ears. With just pink lip gloss in kohl in her eyes, she was
looking like a princess descending in his favourite colour. He was mesmerized by her beauty. But
he felt her dress would complete just with a pinch of sindoor in her parted hairs and a
mangalsutra in her neck, but he was sure one day she will automatically wear that on her own
wish and the day will come soon. She came and sat beside her for the breakfast, kaka served
it...she was feeling a bit awkward and hesitating.
R-So, all set..for the exam?
T-Hmm actually thora sa
R-Darr lag rahahai right? Koi problem nahi hai..maine sab kuch arrange kar diya hai..and be
confident...I Know u can do it, Best of luck
T-Thank you help karne ke liya...
R-Thank u ki jarurat nahi, waise aj exam ke baad wait karna I will come to pick u up.
T- Kiu?
R-Actually Swayam and maine tumharee naam ak naya project suru kiya hai..so u have to sign
the papers.
Soon they drove off to college, when she was moving towards the entrance of the college Rey
called her back and said-
R-Bohot pretty lag rahi ho...
T-(smiling a little sheepishly) pehele kiu nahi bataya?
R-Kiu kit um bhag ke change karke jeans pehen letiii
T-Aysa nahi hai..
R-Aysa hii hai...my sweet...I mean you always do the opposite..so
T- Bye...(and then turning) I am not that bad (showing her tongue ran back )
Rey smiled looking at her cute antiques, he was having a positive feeling that soon everything will
change, Taani will admit her feelings, he was caressing his cheeks, though Taani didn't kiss
him, but he was sure, she was about kiss in his cheeks, and then her dressing up according to
his taste, with a good relaxing mood he went to office, and that evening when Rey came to pick
her up, Taani came running in his arms hugging him tight in front of the college, just to express
that her exam went fabulous and teacher said that her project was the best, first Rey was startled
and then he too wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her tight in his arms...Taani
was super happy, but then it says that happiness doesn't stay long, when just she began to open
up with Rey, forgetting her past, came a big blow, which may shatter her own existence her own
self confidence and her willingness to live her rest of life.
After some times, Rey departed her from the hug and said-
R-So tumne bataya ki project kisne kiya?
T-With a cute pout, Kiu batayu? Woh to mere and aap ke beech secret hai na? And aap bhai ko
bhi nahii batayoge...pura credit mujhe milna cahiyaa...nahi to katti katti
R-Achha calee, kisi ko nahii bataungii...but mujhe prize cahiyaa...
T- hmm done kya cahiyaa?
R-woh to mai baad mai bataungii...filal wait here near the car I will bring some snacks for u , and
stop playing with ur fingers I know ur hungry.
Rey crossed the road, it was a Friday evening there was heavy traffic, it took Rey some 20 mins to
reach back to Taani, he came back with her favorite Paneer role, though he was feeling
impatient but he ignored his thoughts in the mean while-
A bike came and stood beside Taani, the rider removed his helmet, and as soon as Taani, saw
the person, his mind filled up with hatred and anger she was feeling afraid the memories of that
dark night flashed in front of her eyes, but she maintained her cool as she was sue Rey will
come in few minutes, she boosted herself Don't be afraid Taani, talk with him confidently, Rey
will be coming just now'.
S-So, Miss Taani, finally here I am and you are meeting your Ex Lover
Shivam says with his sarcastic smile,
T-Shut up Shivam! Go from here I am married and you have no existence in my life. I don't want
to see your face.
S-"Wait, wait darling what's the hurry?"
He comes forward leans from the bike and holds Taani's arm,
S-You loved me right? Could not leave without me? Wanted to marry me remember? We have
promised so many things together. Where are your commitments now?
T-Shivam, leave me.I have forgotten you. I don't want to see your face again, just go away from my
life and go to hell. I hate you.
S-"What do you think Taani, I will let you go so easily? I have worked so hard for you; I have
wasted so much money to impress you. I can't let you go away like this. Tumharee bhai ne mujhe
police mai diya, but I know how to escape. Neither I got ur property, even I did not get the chance
to taste the nectar of ur private parts, and don't boost about ur husband, because I will make sure
aaj ke baad he will throw u out of his life.
He threatens her, at that moment Taani's eyes were only searching the hazel brown eyes, he was
searching her Rey, though she was acting confident, but she was all of a sudden missing the
warmth of his arms, which she was having few minutes before. Hearing the confusion, some of
her college friends, and college guards came running, the confusion started and then the old
college guard saw Shivam taking out a bottle from his pocket, with an instinct of his age he pulled
Taani by her left hand and Taani's face hit the bonnet, but before anybody could react Taani felt a
burning sensation on the right parts of her body, "Reeyaannsshhh..." For the last time she calls
her husband by his name and falls down on the ground fainting. Shivam runs away from the
place with his bike.
Everybody understood that it was nothing but a bottle full of acid which has done the damage but
due to the old guard's instinct her face was saved but various parts of her right side was burnt.
On the other hand, Rey came running, he don't know but his body was sweating abnormally, he
was feeling miserable, and when he arrived there was a crowd around his car, he impatiently
pushed the crowd, and then the paneer role fell from his hand, his legs were froze, he could
only register the words...Shivam...bike...acid...he fell on the ground, realizing the happenings, he
immediately turned Taani's face "Taani..Wake up" he shakes her face well, but there was no
response. Without wasting more time, he picks her unconscious body in his arm and takes her
to his car, Her blood makes Rey's suit wet, the white colour has turned to red now , he somehow
called Swayam and directly drove to the Hospital, his hands were shaking, all he could see was
a small 8 years girl, playing cricket, a 22 years girl sitting on kitchen top and having her favorite
ice cream in the midnight...phases of life was changing in front of him...he saw the face of Taani
sleeping on his palms, yesterday night, the girl today morning in red anarkali...
.
When he reached the hospital, Swayam was already there, Doctors took her to operation
theater...and there stood the two man, crying consoling each other...the reason of their
existence, the apple of Swayam's eye, and the heart beat of Rey was lying in the operation
theater, her life would be saved, but the after effects of the acid attack...Neither the business
magnet Swayam Shekhawat, nor the business Tycoon Reyansh Singhania had any idea, how
could they bring her to normal life...
