Jodha's marriage to Akbar was Monumental for its time and the amount of space he gave her to grow and thrive warms my heart. There are many cynics who question their story but they overcame some serious odds and major prejudice. The monuments of Fathehpur sikhri, the temples built for her are serious deviations from his faith as interpreted in the 16th century. Yet he did it despite major opposition from his court.

I am also wonderstruck by the luv that Khusrau had for his wife and agree with Abhay that in the truest form , his may be the purest love where he literally accepted death rather than marry another woman. Given 16th century polygamy, this was remarkable

I used to be in awe of Shah jehan story mainly because The Taj is so breathtaking. But Really I was so put off after reading about how Shah Jehan slaughtered an entire generation of his own relatives for the throne not to mention his role in Khusrau's death. Any one so evil cannot be capable of true luv in my eyes.
