It starts off with Alak telling Shagun that she will have to run away because she does not want her to marry Shakti. She had already packed her stuff for her, and made the necessary arrangments. This is all overheard by iraviti, and she can never keep her mouth shut, its burning her up. She thinks about who she can tell, and decided to call Triveni. She informs Tri that Alak is making Shagun run away, and to do something so her family's reputation is saved. This is all overheard by Shakti who says that Triveni has to somehow bring Shagun back into their house before the marriage. Triveni says she will definetly accomplish this.
While Alak is giving the train tickets to Shagun, Triveni walks in and says that she is taking Shagun with her, and Alak says no. Triveni says when did that younger start taking such big decision, she will ask Ma-ji. Ma-ji who was not at home at the time, comes through the doors, and Triveni says that Shagun's real home is with her in-laws and that she wants Shagun and Shakti to get married at their house. Ma-ji says that she doesn't need to ask permission, as Shagun is her daughter anyways. Alak says no, that Shagun doesn't want to. Triveni answers that Alak's mamta is getting in her way, Shagun told her that she wanted to go.
Triveni comes and grabs Shagun and drags her out while Alak follows desperately. When they reack Ma-ji, Tri threatens Shagun she will tell her that she was about to run away, and to come with her queitly. As Shagun comes in front of Ma-ji she looks so scared, and Ma-ji just looks down. Triveni pulls Shagun out to the door, Shagun holds her hand out and so does Alak, but Shagun gives up and goes.
At Triveni's house Shakti is there to welcome them, they do that "suhaghat" for their daughter-in-law. Shakti taunts Shagun about there marriage. Triveni drags Shagun into her room, which she has decorates with flowers and has brought back her solhah singaar. She tells Shagun that this is her prison and then in two days she will be married. She then gives Shagun a bright purple sari to wear, and tells her to do the Solhah singaar. Shagun refuses and says she is Sumers widow, and will never do the Solhah Singaar for Shakti. Triveni tells that she should just listen to her as it will best for her. She leaves Shagun crying and praying before god, when a flower falls down.
