I hate it...hate the fact that you type something so long and then page gets refreshed and everything is lost. I had written all what I felt while writing it. How it took 10 days to complete. Cant rant again. Here goes the update. Hate this internet.
P.s. Thanks to Aruna di for helping me with last part. I know I disturbed you a lot but you still kept patience and encouraged me. Thanks a lot di.
P.p.s. Ready for all tomatoes and chappals you people want to throw on me. Waiting for reviews.
"Ishita..Come home directly from college. No masti and no outing today." Said Mrs. Iyyer as she kept toast in her plate. "Amma..we have planned shopping today." Ishita said with her mouth full. "Ishu..first eat then speak." Mr Iyyer took his bite of bread. "No shopping today." Her mother frowned. "I said come on time." Ishita gave an I dont care look to her grabbing one more quick bite as she stood up to pick her handbag. "Always in hurry...When I cry every morning to get up get up...no one listens to me. And now..no proper eating. Be punctual." Mrs. Iyyer went on saying saying as she collected her gathered books and notes. "See you after shopping Amma...Bbye." She said as she sprang out the door. "Ishu...Ishu listen." Her mother called but to no avail.
-Shagun..Wat is dis? We had planned shopping naa.
-Actually am not in shopping mood Ishita. We'll do it tomorrow.
-Someone please pinch me. Shagun saying no to shopping.
-Cum on yrrr. I said naa..not in mood. Bhayiya..take us to home directly.
-Dont try to be oversmart with me Ms. Arora. Am pretty sure you and Amma are upto something. I know you enough for this.
-Watever.
"What is wrong with you people? Akka, Jeeju..you too?" She kept her hands on her hips as she glared at everyone. "Ishu plss..stop overreacting." Shagun chirped in. "You just have to take a tray of tea there." She opened her hands and handed the tray to her. "No..." Ishita started crying "I am not going. Amma plss." She screamed at the top of her voice along with lifting her legs like a kid. "Pls dont force me." She gave a helpless look to her Appa who couldn't see her daughter in such a state. "Madhavi...Its ok. I think we can leave..." He tried to speak but was cut short. "No Appa." Shagun stopped him at nick of time. "She is just acting. Cant you see?" Gave a furious look to Ishita.
-You...I wont leave you. Am not acting.
-Yess you are. Better do what we are saying.
-Shagun..I hate you. (She stomped her foot.)
-Hate you more.
Shut up...Go now.
Ishita made a helpless face and started moving towards the living area while others laughed at her plight.
I wont spare anyone. Will see everyone one by one. She didnt forget to mention before leaving. Shagun and Bala hified while others giggled.
-So you are doing Fashion Designing? Interesting.
-Thankss. She said not meeting his eyes.
-Dont worry..You can work after marriage also. No one gonna stop you.
She found him smiling and a geuine smile crept up on her lips first time during their conversation. Seeing her confused, he continued.
I can see you are not much comfortable with this marriage thing. Maybe your mother forced you.
No..nothing like that. I mean..yes..she wants me to get married. But I want job first.
Its ok Ishita. Our family is planning our marriage after your studies only. So..there wont be a problem.
And I will always be with you. He took her hands in his and assured her. The mere touch for the first time by a guy...made her blush. How did this man had this effect on her in the first meeting itself...she wondered.
Seeing her blushing made him also smile. I think we can know each other a lot in these 4-5 months. She could only nod trying to hide her smile.
Shagun please...give me my phone naa. Said Ishita climbing from one side of bed while Shagun climbed down from other side. Why? You always tease me naa. Its my turn now. I tell you..you gonna get hard from me when I catch you. Try if you can babes. She sprang the whole length of room while Ishita ran behind her. After 10 minutes both lied on bed with their legs half in the air breathing heavily and laughing heartily.
Look..someone was not ready to budge when she was told to attend boy's family and now...She swang the cell phone in air while Ishita grabbed it. Ok ok...she checked her messages. I was just nervous. It was first time yrr. A smile crept up on her face as she read the text and Shagun looked at her amused. Ishu she called only to get no response. Ishita..you listening..she waved her hands in front of her face but she seemed busy staring at a pic in her phone. Shagun came close to her while she was too lost to realize anything. Shagun saw it was a picture of Ishita and Subbu of today's date. They had been to Central Cafe and in pic Subbu was kissing Ishita on her cheeks while she was blushing tomato red. Bohoo...she spoke into her ear loudly breaking her trance while she shivered terrified only for Shagun to burst into fits of laughter. Ishita heaved a sigh of relief. You terrified me. She hit her shoulder and then adjusted herself on the bed. Settling the pillow against the headboard, she layed down in half lying position and started ruffling through the various pictures on her phone. Shagun pulled the duvet on both of them as both girls started fantasizing their dream life. A life full of loads of love. A dream every girl wants to live. Hardly they knew at that time that Life was not bed of Roses.
Ishita chukled sitting on the bench outside party hall as she remembered that wonderful phase of her life. How they teased each other all day. The last months of their college life which were spent dreaming of a blissful life and promises to always keep in touch forever. How hard life can be. We spend our whole life thinking we'll do this do that but when fate plays its games, we are left with nothing but emptiness. A silent tear escaped her eyes before she could stop it as she looked up towards the sky. Only if...only if she had not been infertile. Only if Subbu had never left her. Only if Shagun had not called her to Delhi to help her in pregnancy. Only if that accident had not taken place. Only if Shagun had not died due to excessive bleeding. Only if they had not married. Only if Subbu had not returned in the party today. Only if she had never loved Subbu...Her life would not have been this today. There were so much. So much only ifs in her life. She cleared the stream of tears on her face.
Crying for me haan? The voice made her shift her gaze to other side. Subbu had come out of party hall and was standing with a smile plastered on his face. Ishita turned her face angrily to other side. Come on janeman...he smirked. Why are you crying haan. See...am here for you. Ishita was confused. She looked in his eyes to understand what he wanted to say. Seeing her baffled, he smirked. I mean I still love you yrr. What did you think I will stop thinking about you if I marry someone else. Ofcourse not sweetheart. He came closer to her and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Ishita backed off as his touch made her feel disgusted. Leave me. She shrieked. Arre...wats wrong. You are reacting as if I am doing it for first time. Come on yrr. He neared her and kept a hand on her shoulder. She shrugged it off. Leave me Subbu. You are married and even I am so better you stay in your limits. Come on Ishita...we dont have any limits. And you are talking about marriage. My wife is far away. And your husband...well he is just name sake. So there wont be much problem you know. He looked at her lustfully from head to toe. Unable to take his filthy gaze, Ishita shifted her eyes to other side. She hated herself at that moment for loving this man in her life once. Just shup up. She tried to be strong and left the place.
He was quick to grab her by her wrist. Wait yrr...where are you going? Just leave my hand. And what if i dont. I said leave it. In a jiffy, he pulled her to himself and plastered her to a tree behind them. She almost screamed as her back touched the tree stem with a force hurting her. He brought his face closer to hers. She turned her gaze downwards in disgust while trying to loosen her hands off his hold. Subbu...leave me. She had tears in her eyes while he had a smirk platered on his face. I know your husband dont touch you. Dont worry darling. I am here naa...will satisfy all youf needs.
Should I be the one satisfying your needs or will you help yourself with it. A tap on his shoulder from behind made his smile fade away. He turned back slowly releasing her off his hold only to find Raman Bhalla standing there. He had his hand placed firmly on his shoulder and his face seemed furious. Subbu tried to fake a smile. I was just...but before he could complete Raman's fist was on his cheeks. He tried to fight back only to be beaten black and blue by him. Ishita cried continuosly and tried to call out to Raman asking him to stop. In no time, security was there to handle him while Raman ran to his crying wife. She stood there covering herself with her arms crying nonstop. Raman took out his coat and helped her cover herself. Ishita...its ok. He has gone. Please stop crying. He tried to calm her down stroking her back but she was crying profusely. Ishita stop it pls yrr. He got impatient. He was never comfortable with such things. Moreover, the lady standing there...he didnt know how to handle her. How he wished Shagun was here. She would have done anything to calm her down. Would not have beared her in such a state. I hate this man. Ishita cried. Ishita...shh...he wont come back. Come...Lets go home. His futile attempt to calm her down was again a failure. Come...he almost dragged her into the car and ordered the driver to take them home.
He made her sit on the bed, and offered her a glass of water but she refused it. Ishita..he kept his hand on hers. She didnt react. Ishita..control yourself. You are at home now. Safe. I am with you. He wiped the tears off her face. Seeing her silent for a long time, he asked her again. Do you want to say something. His hand was still in hers. You can share your feelings with me. Seeing her not budge, he threw the last straw of hope he had. Okk...had Shagun been here, you would have poured your heart out naa. You can do the same here also. He tried to cheer her up. Give it a try I tell you. Yeahh..M not Shagun but trust me not a bad listener. He chukled at his own words. Seeing her not comfortable, he decided to leave her alone for sometime. As he got up, her voice reached his ears making him sit once again.
I loved that man. Ishita...She nodded her head as tears once again started flowing from her eyes. I loved him. He didnt know how to react. He never knew. All his mind or perhaps heart thought at that time was to hold her hand to soothe her and he did exactly the same. And I hate it. She continued. I hate the fact that I loved him. Even for once, I had that feeling for him. Its ok Ishita. You didnt know about him. But I thought I did. She started crying profusely. He had promised me so much. We had planned our life together. Then he left me. I didnt have the heart to hate him even then. He never knew when a tear escaped his eye listening to her intently. But he let her speak as she needed to vent her heart out. But how can he do this. What all he said today. He saw me with lust in his eyes. His gaze was filthy. Chee. She screamed. I dont love him. I dont. He is a cheap, scoundrel. Shh...He is not worth your love Ishita. Dont think about him anymore. He brought her closer to himself and pulled her into a hug. She encircled his arms around her neck while he patted her back. They remained in the same position soothing each other for long time. Why love hurts so much. Her question made him also realize the depth of hurt she was feeling. I should not have loved ever.
Dont be so negative Ishita. I know love hurts. But trust me, its beautiful also and give you lots of reason to enjoy. So never think you should not have loved. Ishita moved backwards to face him. His eyes had a different shine talking about love. She chukled a little. But every lovestory is not like Shagun and yours. Some are meant for failure. Just like mine. I dont feel like taking his name even. She lowered her head. He smiled and raised her head using her chin. When you loved, you did it with heart. If it couldn't reach its destinstion, its not your fault. She looked at him. His eyes gave her a hope. He got up from bed smiling and approached the window. Standing with his arms crossed across his chest and his back to her, he continued. Love is beautiful. Love is the need of Life. We need to love someone to live in life and when we love someone, we give our best to that relation. A silent promise to be together forever. But the sad part is that only few reach that point of companionship...for some lose because the love is lost while others because partener is lost. He lowered his head. Ishita came behind and kept a hand on his shoulder. You are lucky. You can reminscise your love. Everyone doesnt have that fate. He chukled. I love remembering my love. He accepeted. And you...he turned around to face her. Never think its your mistake to love him. Things couldnt work out because he never loved you back. She nodded her head. Maybe...but I hate myself for loving him. He shook his head.
Life is not bed of roses but its certainly not that thorny. Dont dishearten yourself. And stop thinking about that man. Ishita remembered Shagun saying same words to her when her engagement was broken. You wont understand Shagun. She had said then. Heartbreak shatters you and you cant even imagine the extent of amount of hurt I am. Saying is easy but living without that person for the whole of your life..whom you had decides to give up your life to...is a very difficult task. Its impossible for you to put yourself in my shoes.
She lowered her gaze and found herself asking him something that she never had imagined she would. Dont you regret loving her. He turned back and looked at her shocked. She composed herself. I mean I know you used to love each other so much...We still love each other Ishita...he cut her short. She looked at him confused. I love her the same even today and am sure wherever she is, she too loves me...the same way. He emphasized on the last words to tell her that he didnt like watever she said. No...I mean...she tried to clear her stance. I just meant you love each other so much...still do...she tried to read his expressions while talking as her intention was clearly not to annoy him...what I meant was..you had planned so much for yourselves and wat destiny gave you. She is not here today. All you can do is sulk thinking about moments you had spent together. Who said I cry over those moments. Ishita was baffled. As far as she knew, they had shared their life with each other. And after Shagun's pregnancy, their ten years courtship had reached a new level. Hows it possible that Raman's heart doesnt crave for more when he thinks about them. I reminscise those memories Ishita. He as if understanding her confusion told her. I know those days cant return nor can be that life. But I want them to be my wonderful memories...which I can speak up to my daughter when she grows up. I cant cry over them and think all day this could have happened that could have happened. I laugh when I remember her.
And what you do when you actually miss her? He looked at her. I mean when you just want to see or hug her...not just feel her. She was meeting a different side of her husband today. Though she never knew much about him, but she wanted to explore it.
He smirked a little. Well...than I have her with me. In the form of Ruhi. The symbol of our love. He said with a proud face. I told you naa..destiny is not always cruel. If it took my Shagun from me..it gave me Ruhi. Hugging and kissing that little angel completes my day for me. Ishita gave a genuine smile at it and headed towards her bed. You too try it. He said stopping her in her paths. Huh...I mean if destiny snatched that liar subbu from you, it must have given something in return. Try to find it out.
Will try..she nodded her head and took her place on the bed while he gave her a smile and left the room. What could have life given her in exchange of Subbu?
