Why Arjun has loyalty towards wrong people ?

Once bitten twice shy.

But has Arjun learnt his lesson from his mistakes ?

Last time he was an impulsive and orphaned teenager who got into a wrong company. There was no one by his side to tell him how to live a proper and decent life and thus he had to spent a year in the correction home.

What happened this time ? This time he is a grown up and successful man. Why did he choose to steal the Sarpech for Roongta in this expedition ? Why did he say 'Yes' if he knows stealing is a crime and crime means punishment and punishment means a jail term. We saw him afraid of being locked up. Wasn't he repeating his mistakes? This time the magnitude of the mistake includes staking his and others life also. As a mountaineer himself he knows what playing with the weather system means and yet he remains silent.

Then we saw him making fake stories of his childhood. We saw him refusing to identify his childhood friend to maintain his stand and yet he was gambling in a shady place that too in another country. Wasn't he afraid of it ?

Did he choose to remain in the wrong company all the time ? Battered childhood explains the wrong decisions of adolescent Arjun. Does it justify a grown up man's actions too ?

P.S: Please understand the objective of the thread is not to bash the character of Arjun . Just a point of view.

Exactly my points...
Arjun thinks he is invincible... too good to make mistakes! poor man he is disillusioned 😆

Again he is Arjun sabarwal, the star, he is protected by a big brand called Century Corp, how can anyone harm him??

his is a case of too much fame gone into the head...

Honestly, he has had no one to guide him , and the ones like Colonel abhayankar, who offered him good advice, he shrugged them off and brought his own downfall. he did not value good people.

he needs a reality check, and he is gonna learn his lesson in the extreme conditions of Everest and hopefully come out as a normal man!

Thanks for replying. I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this way.

I think the makers are also confused about how to progress this character. He could have been an amateur mountaineer like Anjali and Akash. A trained and world class mountaineer doesn't know why Everest is such an important place for mountaineers.

The way he was stepping here and there didn't make him look like an expert mountaineer. Besides, he goes to jail, has a relationship with a girl for 5 years and then he also climbs seven highest peaks in the world. How old is he by the way ? He looks close to Anjali and Akash or at best to Chand.

Agree with you.
I suppose, makers themselves got highly confused over the complex character of Arjun.
But then, if we think about it, many possibilities of his behavior can be concluded.
This is what I think.
His past had been mired with neglect and loneliness. He yearned for love, friendship and care. That very necessity landed him in wrong company of people. Being neglected of all of his childhood and adolscent, he yearned for attention. He never experienced what love of a mother is or how it feels to be cared and by near and dear ones. Even when he's a grown man now ( he must be around 22 - 23 I guess 😕) he still wants everyone to make him centre of attention. He expects all to acknowledge him, praise him. (the reason of his antics during mission)
Also, his trust and faith was shattered when his so called friends deserted him, leaving him alone with a horrendous jail experience. This, along with past scars created an undesirable void. It is just not possible for a man who has suffered so much at such a raw age to behave normal. Scars of past stay for life creating a deep sense of fear. We know, its human tendency to do exactly opposite of what he is supposed to do. Arjun could have tried to change himself for good, accept his mistakes and worked on his guilt feeling, but he simply didn't and let fame, money take control of his head. He let himself flow away when he could have stopped.
A childhood as intimidating as Arjun's leaves very bitter memories. This makes the person (here Arjun) vulnerable, isolated and susceptible to various simple situations. A cunning man like Roongta noticed this and nicely manipulated an innocent, frail Arjun into an egoistic jerk he is today.
This rescue mission will teach him to trust people, and presumably he'll return a changed man. 😊

I hope makers will clarify even more with slow transitions during this mission.. Isn't what he said was not fake stories that was his own horrible nightmare which makes him completely broken down in each aspects of life .. Regarding Arjun his haunting past makes as huge blunder in future part too .. In human stages of life childhood plays a vital role in shaping up a complete man, here he completely missed and devoid of getting those precious stages of parental measures .. Whatever you said was right as far concerned towards his behaviour when it supposed to being selfish, attitude, Is he again repeating his history?? . Inspite of all he knows very well what ever right now it's completely wrong but he doesn't let him to come out from that shell which doesn't makes sense at this POV but makers hellbent to show his drift happening around everest because if he again goes to do his favour for Rooghta despite knowing his evil intention behind this project, they should have shown already Arjun breaking ties with him.. Again he sticked to Roongta in fulfilling his mission is a another cling to do it with mission everest .. Hence we too witness his fear of rejection, loneliness, sustaining loyalty and choosing among people, detaching himself among crowd what ever he loosed in his childhood days, he can't get it back so it's a reason for right now...He don't want to believe people, he felt people are always looking up to some favour in their journey . Even in past too a sort of honesty stays within him..success, fame and money it's a part of human life but you can't make whole world heeling over you.. graph gradually alters for every human being by sailing into a wrong path . When you know to isolate good or bad things then obviously you should hold your chance or paving way in moulding yourself by regretting your mistakes.. His own theory being for right reason it's better than wrong aim, it's like a irony who don't wants him to give life a second chance.. This was really amusing even though Arjun had a horrible circumstances I want him to see as a better person in which Everest playing a huge part.. Now it's time I hope makers intruding slow drifting of range in his character..!!

I feel lust for power and fame is what makes him take the wrong route. Maybe his experience didn't teach him to value noble qualities. He saw the world admiring people with power, money and fame. And he might have felt if his past is opened he will not get second chance. As society will outcast him as orphan and a thief.
He is a mirror to society also. How a society who refuses to give second chance create more criminals and selfish people like Arjun.
Contrast can be seen in Aakash, who is forced to take the burden of a crime he didn't even commit. Cursed by people like Seema Mausi, forced to live in isolation. It might be the values his parents gave and Shika Maa's love that has kept Aakash a positive person, else he might also have also taken wrong path.
Arjun didn't have any guidance. He took decision based on his experience which may not have been good. That monkey gang ditched him after he got arrested though he didn't tell any of their names

Good post!!!

I agree...arjun shouldn't repeat his mistakes...especially the same ones...whose result would be his most feared place...jail!

i guess arjun wants to shine, he wants glory, fame and he doesn't care about the means to achieve that...he is blinded by the glitter of offer by roongta...

he portrays a very typical character in today's world...those who resort to wrong ways to achieve glory are often ended up in misery...

I sympathize with him. Knowing his past and knowing the circumstances that landed him in jail was of course not in his hand I have to but sympathize with him. I also blame the society for being so oblivion to such people .I know being a parallel lead of the show he can never be shown in bad light. He will come clean in the end.

But I am only questioning his motives now. He is no more young. Everyone learns from mistakes. That is how the world runs. As they say, Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. If he is caught now or even when he was put behind the bars because of that fight in the club he cannot blame the society or his past because of this.

He should have learnt from his experience. His last experience was disastrous. He is shown scared of being jailed. In that case he should have refrained from doing any such unethical thing.

Life has its own ways to teach people. It has weird ways to bring people closer. If you fail to recognize them is always your mistake. Arjun had no parents but he had other people. What about Reena or his childhood friend? Didn't he ditch them out of choice ?

I don't want to take Akash as an example because two lives cannot be compared but if we take then even he lost his parents at a young age but he found himself a good company. When life gave him a choice he didn't let it go. That's all made the difference

Arjunun didn't tell the names of the monkey gang but he also kept silent when Roongta played with the weather system. This is why I say its no lesson learnt for Arjun. Besides, when he is so proud of making it in life all by himself. he but has to take the responsibility of whatever wrong he did in the process.

Brought up in an orphanage without parental love and attention, mixing with the wrong crowd in teenage years, being deprived of parental guidance and moral values or principles, these are the formative factors in Arjun's life.

He doesnt have a moral compass in life... and hence gets into wrong company, follows crooked people like Roongta, who must have promised him a hefty sum for finding the sarpech.
Rungta also promised him future endorsements and fame thru his company Century Corp.
Arjun is greedy for wealth and fame, he gives prominence to these things instead of love or companionship.

Agree with Dey...
Its not that Arjun didnt get a second chance, he did, and he became a succesful mountaineer. We dont know how he started mountaineering, and excelled it. He had love in reena. So he is better off than what he thinks himself to be!

problem is in his thought process. he holds a grudge against his past and the whole world which boasts his ego and he cant look beyond it. Its his mental block, and he doesnt want to prioritise anything other than his ego.. Thats why he behaves badly with others, doesn't pay heed to Colonel's advice and runs after Money. he needs to widen his mind and look beyond himself , and a Team spirit can bring that change in him , hopefully.

also his basic moral values are weak , which is a contrast to Aakaash, who seems to have lost everything- parents, best friend and a flourishing career, yet despite all weakness, he tries Genuinely to pick up the pieces and move on, which is the most endearing quality about him.
