Poonam is next Asha Bhosle - Page 4

Poonam no doubt is a very very good singer. and frankly speaking in this season of all the shows i found her to be the best among all the girls.But to put her at the same pedestal as Ashaji is going bit too far.😊

We can say that yes she possibly has a very bright future as playback singer reason being she is able to sing any genre song with so much ease.Especially the ones being composed now a days.With Ismailji also now deciding to change his style of composition lets forget about pure melodies.😆

No doubt Poonam is a good singer but I don't find her voice quality much appealing.

When she sang 'Hamesha tujhko' from Devdas, ID mentioned that she sang it better than Kavita Krishnamoorthy and in my opinion that itself was a hyperbole.

Poonam has improved a lot but she has a long way to go and I still don't find her at par with the top singers of the show so comparing her to Asha ji is unwarranted.

Infact I thought that 'Hamesha tumko chaha' was one of the weaker performances of Poonam.. ID being the composer of the song himself, I thought it was not right for him to false praise a weak attempt of Poonam to that degree and in trun insult Kavita'ji!

When i said about her voice quality i considered voices of Lataji & Ushaji. I feel voice quality of both of them are sweeter compared to her. And her voice was not considered good when she started out singing. Asha ji herself had mentioned this when she had been a Mahaguru for the ongoing SRGMP when she recalled the incident when Kishore Kumar and Ashaji was ready at the recording studio , the recordist takes away the microphone saying "Un dono ko yaha kaun bulaya? Unk dono ka awaz bekar hain"

And i think there will not be many who will contradict me when i say that Asha ji is the most vocally versatile female playback singer. Regarding voice quality, opinion differ from person to person, this is my opinion anyway.

The ability to point an off tuned guitar shows Ahaji's musical ability even you probably can do that.

The real voice quality of the singers come out only after they start singing songs which are composed for them by really good composers.

The topic does say she could be next Ashaji.. and i feel Poonam has vocal ability to sing any technically challenging song bet it existing or new composition. 😃

Yeah, Lata ji has even sweeter voice.Asha's voice is sharper but in an extremely beautiful way .In those days focus was more on melody and hence Lata's voice was preferred.But beacause of this good combination of sharpness and sweetness she was able to sing western songs as well ...

And regarding the guitar thing ...try doing it when a full orchestra is playing (and you are singing)with several guitartists..well, thats just one of the stories I hv heard about her ...

I am sure some people even consider Mauli as next Asha ji...everyone has his or her opinion ....so fair enough...

Thanks for your effort. Poonam is a good singer but she has a long way to go. It is not wise to compare her with any legend but hope and pray for her success and may God bless her.

Of-course she has a long way to go..even asha bhonsle didn't get such appreciation in early years she also had to spend so many years proving her talent everytime and then only she got this recosnition..so it's for sure that Poonam also needs all that time which Asha Bhonsle has used to make this position..

But it is sure that she has all that which can make her that big..

Asha is good but this doesn't mean that no-one in the whole universe.. till the doomsday can not come near to her..

If given equal opportunities Poonam will prove that she is no less than Asha
