Champak's Contribution?

In one recent episode it was mentioned that he is 62. As far as we can make out he is fit and fine. Also he is an idealist. So what does he do about it? Why doesn't he contribute in any which way to the household? He orders Daya around. "bahu, chai". "bahu, nashta". etc.

Bang on correct, even jetha has got a life !!! He is father of 15 year old son so how babuji can treat jetha like that ?? Jetha has so much work at dukaan, atleast once in a week he can visit the shop and atleast sit on the cash counter !!

I feel to some extent,it's jetha's fault too.U respect someone that doesn't mean u have to be scared of that person. Respect and Fear are two different things.Jetha encourages champak by feeling scared of him.He should directly tell him to stop bullying and scolding him in front of everyone, specially tapu. He's no more a small kid,he's the father of a teenager and the sole breadwinner of the house. Champak should respect him as a father and should stop controlling him.
Daya too should talk about this with champak. Instead she takes advantage of jetha's fear for champak.I wonder how can she enjoy all these?

Actually a woman has a shield guard for herself in herself in sasuraal, it may be devar, nanaand, hubby and rarest of the rare cases the sasur himself, so daya in order guard herself won't leave cover from babuji against jetha !!!

What is morality ? I wish to find a reliable answer from this show.

'Mujhe sharam aati hai' so says Daya when she has to wear a western outfit. What about hitting hands here and there at the drop of hat ? Do you want to tell me that every Bahu from Gujarat just starts dancing before their father-in-laws ?

Daya to thak gayi hai. Obviously self centered sasurji but so is your son. He wasn't partying all day either. Why such discrimination ? You made a whole meal for your bahu ji. Ever thought that the man who was at work all day must be hungry too ? No, infact when some self invited guests were to be served you made him starve.

Drinking is immoral. Yes, I take the argument but poking nose in marital issues is morality in which part of India ?

Sanskaro ka acchar... Brilliant but why was the host wearing shorts during new year's party specially when teenagers were part of the party ?

Oh yes Jetha is a later riser but did you know Bapuji that he is the only person in the society who is usually late at home ? Its because of his profession.

Champak would poke his little nose in trivial matters also but will remain silent whenever Sundar or Tappu plays a trick. Which part of India conning is taken as a great sanskar ?

An aimless and shameless brother. At this age no man in India has respect if he is not an earning individual but GD society will soon build a mandir for Jeev Daya and her children and of course Champak will happily do the ribbon cutting ceremony. .

Athithi Devo Bhava.. right!!! but what about Guru sakshat param Bhramha ?

Ohho Bapuji cleans the compound all by himself but wasn't he the one who was brushing in the balcony?

I just hate this character. A hypocrite soul he is. He is only faking his greatness. No clear cut ideals, no clear characterization. There is nothing so great about him. Only a thali ka baingan.

But why would daya need a shield against jetha? Is jetha torturing her?In fact it's just the opposite. Daya is the queen of the house.Jetha tolerates fraud sundar and bears all the monetary loss because of only and only daya.
I wonder how can a woman tolerate her husband being scolded like a 5 year old kid by his father? It would look really weird.Daya is the main person to stop this. Either she should talk with champak or jetha regarding this.

Actually in the starting episodes of tmkoc, daya was often scolded every now and then by jetha, but gradually the matters turned out to be opposite as you said !!

Not really, jetha scolded Daya because she would such things jisse bechara ka pachka ho jata tha. Even then it was minor marital affairs only that didn't require the presence of her sasurji.
