Epilogue - I Need You For Life

* * * *

A Few Years Later:

One late afternoon Ibrahim brothers were sitting in the living room in their Mansion.

Rehaan stretched his arms after they had finished watching a movie. Their wives were out together as they had a few things to take care of.

Aahil took a glance at his brother and smirked as an idea came into mind. "What do you say that we take a round on CoD?"

"It's been a while we've played it." Rehaan said.

"Yeah, it's been a while I've beaten you on it."

"Oh, we'll see just who wins," Rehaan said as he went on to switch it on.

"Wait how about we make ourselves more comfortable" as Aahil took a glance around the living room.

Rehaan showed nothing but confusion toward his older brother.

"Come on, help me out here," he said before disappearing inside the bedroom to search after what they needed.

A few hours later Sanam stood outside with a white file in her hands which she gently placed back in her brown bag. She took out her keys and opened the front door and came inside alongside with her sister, Seher.

"I wonder what they've been up to."

"Well I think it's safe to say they're probably playing some video games like always or you're dear husband is busy preparing the room for some action later?"

"Seher, seriously? Are you forgetting that your husband would have done the same for you?"

"I know as long as it's better than getting it on in the living room." Seher grinned as she recalled a moment.

Sanam turned bright red.

"Oh My God, it was one time - one single time. We did not hear you guys come inside, okay!"

"I know, sister. I just love teasing you."

The two sisters walked through the hallway and into the living room where they both stopped dead in their track.

They're eyes landed on the floor where mattresses and sheets which the two men were sitting on.

"Go left, come on! Yes! And Aahil Raza Ibrahim wins yet again." A proud voice spoke.

"That's not fair, Bhai." Rehaan said placing the controller on the table beside him. "I would have won."

Aahil chuckled lightly. "All is fair in love and war and not to forget games as well."

The two women shared a look who each other.

"See I told you they were going to play Call of Duty." Seher whispered.

"Ahem!"

The two men turned around and saw their wives with amused looks on.

"Please tell me that you both have been more productive than this?" Sanam asked crossing her arms.

Aahil showed his wife a smile. "Oh I've been productive. I just get the things I need to do in a fast manner."

"What is going on? What's up with the mattress and sheets? Jeez, it's just a game, guys." Seher said.

"We needed to get comfortable." Rehaan answered his wife.

"Sure because getting comfortable is so important and who is going to clean this up?" she asked.

"Don't worry about it, I'll do it."

Aahil widened his eyes as he snickered slightly. "You're so whipped, Rehaan."

Rehaan turned around to face his brother. "Hah, this coming from you, Bhai?"

Aahil raised an eyebrow in question. "What did I do?"

He took a glance at the two women before settling on his brother. "It's about what you didn't do. Have you forgotten the Annual Conference Party which was held a few months back?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"You don't remember anything about it?"

Aahil shook his head. "No."

Rehaan smirked. "That's because you weren't there. You didn't attend because Sanam said so."

"What? I did not," Sanam quickly said in her defense.

"That's not true, Rehaan." Aahil said.

"Really?" Rehaan said not believing what he was told. He shared a brief look with Seher.

There was a short silence between the four, before it was broken by Sanam.

"Okay, aright! The reason for him not attending was because I didn't like that Selina woman."

"Possessive aren't we?" Aahil said with a proud grin on his face.

"And whipped." Rehaan coughed. "At least we're getting somewhere."

Sanam rolled her eyes. "She kept giving Aahil those lost puppy eyes and death glares at me! Hah, like she really had any chance to begin with."

Before Rehaan could comment, Aahil caught something different with his wife. It was like he was receiving different vibes from her.

He stared at her for a brief moment. "What's up with you? You're acting a bit different?"

Sanam tucked a few strands of hair away from her face. "Really? In what way?"

"Moody."

Sanam gasped. "Moody! I am not being moody, Aahil. Do I look moody to you?"

"Woah! Calm down, Jaan." Aahil said slightly surprised in her outburst.

"Alright, easy there Sista, easy." Seher tried to calm her down, giving her a slight look.

Sanam took one deep breath in order to calm her nerves down.

"I'm still going to hold on to the fact that you're still whipped, Bhai."

"Anyways! Don't you guys have somewhere to be?" Aahil glared at Rehaan.

Seher shook her head at the two brothers. "Both of you are whipped by us Khan Sisters, deal with it."

She gave a small smile toward her sister and gently squeezed her arm.

"Give me a call after" she softly whispered before getting a hold of Rehaan.

"Now, if you excuse us, Rehaan and I need to go now."

They made it to the front door, where Aahil watched them. "I want you kids back at 12." He said with a small smirk.

"Can't promise anything, Jeej.."

Aahil shook his head as a light laugh escaped from his lips. He was genuinely happy for them both. He then turned his attention on Sanam.

"So.." she took a glance around the living room, where pillows and sheets were lying around.

"Finally alone, huh?" He whispered wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Aahil..."

He leaned back and studied her for a brief moment. "Is something wrong? You're acting a bit different."

She bit her lip and knew the question would be asked. He could always read her like open book.

However a small smile came across her rosy lips by thinking about her whereabouts with Seher earlier in the evening.

"Actually there is something I want to tell you."

"You can tell me anything, you know that."

She nodded and took a deep breath to calm herself.

She had been so nervous throughout the day which was why she and Seher had stayed at the caf longer than they had intended. That was the only way she could calm her nerves down - besides they had the best chocolate brownies at the place.

"Sanam?" Aahil said with a hint of concern in his voice.

She raised her gaze and met his dark brown eyes. She knew it was time.

"Aahil.. There is something I wanted to tell you for a quite a while. I just needed time to be sure." She gently reached out for his hand and placed it on her slightly flat stomach.

He looked at her with confusion.

"Aahil.. I'm pregnant."

Shock was written upon his face. He certainly didn't see this coming. "What? Say that again."

"I'm pregnant." Sanam said again while waiting for a respond from him.

She bit her lip once again. "Say something?"

His expression broke into a smile and looked at her. "You're pregnant? I'm going to be a dad? We're going to be a family?"

She nodded just before she was swept from her feet where he swung her around expressing his joy by the news.

"Careful" she managed as her sweet laughter filled the room. He placed her down on the ground and looked into her warm brown eyes.

"I love you" he whispered and leaned forward where he placed a gentle kiss upon her lips.

She broke apart and studied him for a second. "Tell me Nawab Sahib - are you happy about this?"

"What? Of course I am, my Begum Jaan. This is the best news I've ever heard."

He took a look down at her stomach. "How far along are you?"

Sanam smiled. "One month and three weeks. I went to the doctors today and did some tests."

He couldn't get the smile off from his face. "How did it happen?"

"Oh, I think you know how it happened." She said with a hint of playfulness in her voice.

Indeed he knew how it unfolded. He remembered the night they shared which was full of passion and love.

He couldn't get his gaze off from his wife. "You have no idea how happy you've made me."

"Correction how happy we've made each other!" Sanam said.

"Thank you" he whispered while placing a hand on her stomach. His eyes kept beaming from the news.

"I wanted this life with you. Most importantly, I want this child to experience the love we can give," she paused slightly.

She cupped his cheek. "This was always a dream for me, Aahil. To start a family with you. I want this with you and I couldn't be happier."

Aahil nodded. "You know what? We'll decorate a whole baby room for the little. And buy toys and everything the baby needs."

She smiled by his affection and how touched he actually was about the news. She slowly reached out for his hand and gripped it and looked into his dark colored eyes.

"You're going to be a fantastic father. I know you will."

"As long as I have you beside me, we'll be alright, baby." He whispered as he leaned in placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Aahil tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear. "Does anyone else know about this?"

"Only Seher. You should have seen the way she reacted upon the news." She led out a laugh. He joined her as she would most likely jump around from the joyful news.

"I think I can imagine. Bet she wanted the baby to be named after her?"

Her eyes widened slightly. "That's exactly what she said."

Sanam shared a look with him. "She wanted the name Seher for a girl and Sahil if it's a boy."

"Wow, talk about the fact that the two names do not sound the same at all." He joked.

-------

It was an ordinary afternoon where the weather was nice yet a bit of chilly. Aahil was currently sitting inside on the small steps by the garden doors as his eyes were focused on the greenery in front of him.

He was rather lost in his own thoughts that he didn't notice his wife came and sat beside him.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Sanam said.

Aahil tore his eyes away. "Nothing special."

His eyes caught a white mug Sanam was holding.

"Is that coffee?"

"Yeah," she said just before she took a sip from it.

He raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you have coffee just this morning - is this your second cup?"

"Yes, why?"

"So much coffee isn't good for you, Sanam. Here give that to me." Aahil said while he took the cup from her hands.

"Wait what? But I just spend so much precious time making it."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'll have it" he said while taking a sip right in front of her.

She narrowed her eyes as she eyed him. "It doesn't. Give it back Mr. Ibrahim."

"I'll get you something else, Jaan, don't worry."

He stood up and disappeared inside the kitchen while leaving the coffee mug on the table.

Sanam's eyes couldn't stop staring at it. She had put so much time making it, because she really wanted to drink it. It had been on her thought all day, or maybe it was just something to do with her hormones lately.

Nevertheless he came back and watched as she was about to reach for the mug.

"Don't even think about it."

He sat beside her while wearing a smirk.

"Here, drink this." He handed her a glass of fresh juice. "It's good for you, trust me."

"Easy for you to say, I wanted coffee to begin with."

"I'm drinking this on the behalf of you." He winked softly.

Sanam took a small sip as she studied her husband for a while. "Anyways, you never told me what you were sitting here for?"

He shrugged his shoulder. "Just doing a little bit of thinking."

"About what?"

"Just our life together. We're about to start a family now. We're going to be parents." She smiled slightly by the words as she traced his arm lovingly.

He was quiet for a short while, as if trying to find the right words. Aahil sighed slightly. "I'm not sure how good I'll be. How good I'll be a father to my children?"

She looked up to meet his eyes. She could easily hear the fear and a small hint of sadness coming through. "Don't ever question that. You'll be a great father, Aahil. You'll be a loving and caring father, because you know why? No matter how arrogant you may seem despite having the title of a Nawab, you'll love and understand our children the best way we you can. To show them how much we will love them."

The Nawab nodded. He couldn't feel more thankful of the fact that he had her in his life. This woman sitting beside him was the mother of his child.

Sanam got her hand into his and entwined their fingers.

"You're proven to be a great brother, a great Nawab for its people and most importantly a great husband, then you'll have no problems with showing how great father you are."

Sanam lowered her gaze.

"I may seem like I have everything sorted out. Be it my career or my personal life, but.. Aahil, you have no idea how scared I am. Will I be able to be a good mother? Will I be able to give love to our child? What if I mess up? There are so many thoughts that run through my mind every single day, but I know that this cannot stop us from trying. We'll get through this together."

He reached out for her hand and kissed it lightly. "I love you." He said.

She placed her head on his shoulder and knew that everything would be alright. They would get through this together.

After a few minutes later her eyes landed on the white mug.

"Can I have my coffee back now? Or at least just get a sip?"

He laughed and let her take a small sip. He watched as her eyes brightened and now he understood how truly happy she had made him. He leaned in and kissed her head as they continued to enjoy the scenery in front of them.

3 Months into The Pregnancy:

The Ibrahim household was getting ready for dinner. The servants were busy placing hot dishes and drinks at the table as everyone else began to get seated.

Sanam began to get seated as her eyes wandered to one dish to another. Briyani, chicken sauce, salad, roti, just to name a few.

The begum of Bhopal began to feel bad and took a few deep breaths in order to calm down. It was like she had no appetite to begin with. The strong smell of food began to get to her head, which was surprising, as she always enjoyed these dishes.

Seher, who was sitting beside rehaan, but opposite her sister, noticed the change.

"Hey, you okay? You don't look so good?" Seher asked being concerned.

Sanam ran a gentle hand through her face which came to rest just above her mouth. "I don't think I feel so good, guys."

She then pushed the seat back and hurryingly made it to the bedroom.

"Sanam." Aahil exclaimed after her.

He came shortly behind her and saw her kneeling down to a bin at the bathroom, throwing up. Aahil took a few steady steps inside and touched her shoulders gently and removed her hair away from her face.

"Easy there. Take it easy. Remember that it's normal to feel like this in these days."

Sanam coughed a few times as she raised her gaze and wiped her mouth. He helped her stand up as she washed her face by the sink.

"Easy for you to say, you're not having these utterly irritating mood swings!"

"Does this mean that we're not having dinner?"

Sanam shot him a glare.

Aahil raised his hands in defense. "Just asking, Jaan."

5 Months into The Pregnancy:

"Aahil!"

"Sanam."

"Mr. Ibrahim!"

"Mrs. Ibrahim."

"Nawab Sahib!"

"Begum Jaan."

"Ugh!" Sanam groaned as she raised her hands in pure annoyance toward her husband. "You're impossible."

"No I am not," Aahil said as he crossed his arms wearing a calm expression on his face.

"You are" she said pointing a finger at him. "You're being this utterly handsome annoying man right now, who I just want to kiss senseless." She poked at him as the words left her mouth.

"And I can totally feel the heard muscles underneath your shirt, which I so want to touch, but I have to maintain focus. Ugh! Focus, Sanam!" She exclaimed.

Aahil was left confused as he raised an eyebrow by her sudden heated outburst.

"Wait, I'm not quite sure if I'm following. Are you angry or trying to get me laid? You left me confused."

Sanam rolled her eyes. "Hah, serves you right."

"Okay, remember what we agreed on? That there would be no mind games. Now, you tell me what you want, Woman."

"I don't know. I'm so tempted to just push you against the wall and undress you with my hands."

Aahil smirked. "Then come here and do it, Miss Khan."

Sanam closed her eyes trying hard not to let the old nickname and his husky voice affect her. She licked her lips.

"Come on, you know you want to." Aahil whispered into her ear, now standing close behind her. He gently leaned in and kissed her neck.

She melted under his gentle touch.

Sanam inhaled as she turned around as her hands reached up and fumbled with the tiny buttons.

Just two buttons remained to be unbuttoned when he whispered. "Say yes.."

Her eyes shot up as she stepped back from him and met his eyes. "No! The answer is still no."

Sanam crossed her arms.

"Oh come on." Aahil sighed.

"No, you will not make the lawn into a cricket field."

"It's for the baby."

"Aahil, the baby is not going to play cricket the very first minute it's born."

"Well, maybe not in the first few minutes but after a few years he or she will."

"Aahil no."

He nodded. "We'll take the discussion a few days later then."

"What? Alright do whatever you want. The answer is still going to be a no."

"Don't be so sure, Jaan" an evil like smirk came across his lips.

"It's clear to me that you're just not sure what you want. Only a few minute ago you were all over me, and then you suddenly stopped."

Sanam narrowed her eyes. "If I didn't know better, then I would have thought that the whole cricket thing was mainly for yourself and Rehaan's interest?"

Aahil couldn't help but grin. "It's going to look awesome."

"Nawabs and their big dreams," she muttered under her breath.

"Hey, you're the Begum of a Nawab. Don't forget to count yourself in."

She shook her head at him. "You are seriously impossible."

"And you're seriously too cute when you're mad," Aahil said as he took a step closer.

"I could take you right here, right now." He spoke into her ear.

"Take me already!"

--------

7 Months into The Pregnancy:

Aahil and Sanam had been debating for hours as Aahil stood in the empty room with paint cans lying on the floor.

They were busy getting it ready for the soon to be born baby.

The Nawab sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. "Jaan, you either tell me to pain it blue or pink?"

"We don't know what it's going to be yet."

"Then we'll paint it purple."

"Yes!" She let out a happy sound. "Purple it is."

Aahil exhaled loudly as he pressed his face into his hands. Thank God.'

"But.."

Oh no..'

"Is purple fine?" She asked worriedly.

"Purple is fine, baby. It's a natural color."

"Okay." Sanam disappeared to another room. "I'll go and get Rehaan."

"You do that." He said as he took a glance around the room. One thought seized his mind. Did they know how to pint?

He furrowed his brows. Of course, come on, Ibrahim. It's an easy task.'

--

A few hours later a horrified sound filled the room.

"OH MY GOD!"

The two men who was almost finished with painting the walls, turned around in pure panic.

"What? What happened? Are you okay, Sanam?"

"What the hell happened in here?" Seher said placing her hands on her hips.

"What do you mean?" Rehaan asked his wife.

"I can see lines from here, that's what happened."

"What lines? It's all purple." The two Royal brothers furrowed their brows.

"Lines, My Nawabs. Why are there lines on the wall?"

Sanam watched the conversation unfold. She reached out for a chair. "I think I need to sit down for a while."

"You are supposed to paint vertical lines. Seriously, both of you are just pretty boys who's afraid to get their hands dirty."

"Are you sure your woman isn't pregnant as well, Rehaan? I mean have you even seen our clothes!?" Aahil said looking at Seher.

"Seher, I think we should just let them do is as they want." Sanam said trying to calm her sister down.

"Aright however you're pleased, Sista."

One hour later, they had managed to finish the room from painting it into a light colored purple.

The two brothers stood by the doorway and took a look around.

"Damn!" Aahil sighed. "We're clearly in a deep mess."

Rehaan took a silence glance at his brother. "You can actually see the lines Seher was talking about earlier."

The Nawab was quiet for a long while. "Maybe we should paint it all over again?"

"No. We are not painting this again. We should just leave it at that. Look it at this way, it'll be a quite funny memory to look back at. I mean not everything has to be perfect - what's the fun left in that?"

Aahil showed a small smile to his brother and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Let's get something to eat and try to convince our dear wives in the same time."

Rehaan chuckled lightly as he followed his brother.

--------

9 Months into The Pregnancy:

The time was slowly getting closer. Sanam's delivery could happen anytime soon.

The Begum of Bhopal was sitting on the bed as her gentle warm eyes watched her husband move around in the room.

Aahil was slowly getting things ready for her stay at the hospital.

"You're stressing, Mr. Ibrahim."

He raised his gaze for a second before continuing to pack her bag of clothes and other important things. "Well, I should be shouldn't I?"

"I thought that was my job?"

"No, your job is to relax and breathe. I will take care of being stressed by your behalf, remember? That's what we agreed on."

A gentle laugh escaped her lips and placed her hand on her now fully grown stomach.

"Aahil.."

She reached a hand forward for him to sit on the bed. He smiled softly and carefully sat down beside her, gripping into her hand.

He ran a soft hand through her dark brown hair. "You're the most beautiful pregnant woman I have ever seen, Mrs. Ibrahim. I mean it."

Sanam blushed. "I love it when you worry so much, especially when no one would ever think that a rough man like you would be so worried about small things."

He shook his head as a slight serious expression came across his face. "These things are not small, Sanam. It's about your safety and the child's as well."

She closed her eyes as she felt him lean in where he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "I can't wait to hold our child."

"Aahil..." Sanam breathed carefully holding a hand on her stomach.

"Hmm.."

"I-I think it's time," she breathed slowly.

He leaned back staring at her.

"What?" He panicked. "Alright, calm down. I'll get everyone. Lateef! Rehaan! Seher! Get the car ready!"

--------

One Year After at The Ibrahim Household:

"Hayee.. She looks like you," Sanam said already seated at the living room watching her daughter wiggle her tiny arms. "She even has your eyes."

"She does?" Aahil asked not tired from smiling all the while.

"Oh, don't sound so modest. You were lecturing her last night before bed on how she did look like you." Sanam laughed heartily.

Aahil couldn't help but chuckle as well. "Yeah, I guess. Besides she has your smile."

"Awww.. Aren't you both cute? But I have to agree with Sanam - those eyes are going to kill hearts once she grows up."

"Oh, I'll make sure no boy looks her at that way." The newly proud father said with a serious expression.

"Relax, Bhai. She's not even two yet and you're becoming possessive already." Rehaan smirked.

"I have to follow my rules, don't I?"

"She is one, Jeej - One year old. What is a one-year-old going to do?"

Aahil was about to reply, but Seher interrupted him with a laughter.

"Oh wait.." She tried her best to speak but her laugh never allowed her to do so.

"Seher..." Rehaan said.

"Right. Imagine Aiza accepting some toys from another baby boy."

She turned her attention on her sister. "Damn, your husband is going to go bananas with such things. Hell, he'll most likely hunt down the poor family and expect some kind of explanation."

A light laugh was exchanged between them as Aiza smiled and let out a cheerful yell.

"I swear she talks and talks," Aahil joked to Rehaan.

"Hey, be glad that I didn't make such a fuss about naming your adorable and cute daughter something else then Seher. I was way too kind hearted to let that go."

"Thank you so much for being so kind hearted, Saali Sahiba."

Sanam couldn't help but shake her head as she smiled. She went on to pick Aiza up and set her into her lap. She got her hand into her tiny fists. "Mama loves you dearly."

"And Baba loves you too, my darling." Aahil said taking a long glance at his daughter before catching his wife's gaze.

"And not to forget, Chachu and Chaachi aka Masi loves you too. Very much indeed."
