Following the footsteps of several other Pakistani stars, Shehroz Sabzwari is also set to try his luck in highly-competitive Bollywood film industry.
According to Indian media reports, the 29-year-old actor-model, who made his Lollywood debut in Khulay Aasman Ke Neechay', will made his Bollywood debut in Bengali director Riingo Banerjees' maiden Hindi film Luv's Story.
Shahroz, the son of veteran TV/Film actor Behroze Sabzwari and nephew of legendry actor-director Javed Sheikh, will play a lead role in the film, which also features several Bengali stars including Aryann, Mukesh Tiwari, Zarina Wahab, Riya Sen, Bidita Bag, Locket Chatterjee and others.
"I always wanted to direct a Hindi film and feel that the time is ripe. Soumik Das and I are working on this project," TimesofIndia quoted Banerjees as saying.
Shibasish Banerjee will score the music of film, which's shooting would start next month in Bengal.
Shehroz was emotional about his proposed Bollywood debut.
"It was always my dream to join Bollywood and I hope India welcomes me with open arms. It took me a second to give my nod after hearing the script. There are many shades to Luv's character," said the actor.
" I was really nervous about sending my audition tape to the director. I also told him how I love Satyajit Ray's films."
Another Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is also set to make Bollywood debut starring opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan in Rahul Dholakia's upcoming film Raees.
Mahira already has fan following in India thanks to her role as Khirad in drama serial Humsafar, which was aired in the country on Zindgai Zee channel.
The shooting of Raees will start in February next year.
Several other Pakistani male and female actors including Veena Malik, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Humaima Malick, Imran Abbas, Ali Zafar, Fawad Khan, Meera and Sara Loren have already made their Bollywood debuts.
