i always had this question but always forgot to post it. today the post socialized health care system reminded me about this question, therefore posting it here. is it fair on other patients if some patients get the privileges of getting immediate treatments if there is a family doctor in the hospital or clinic. how is it fair on other patients, who have to wait in emergencies for long hours other while other patients can have the benefit of cutting the queue and getting immediate treatment. i hope i am making some sense here.

OMG.. If that happens, it is absolutely unfair beyond a doubt. If private hospitals develop such a reputation, they'd tank..
People using people, people bribing people and people taking other people for a ride, and people shamelessly hurting other people being so common, I suppose it must happen! Unfair..

& then again..
if I am a heart surgeon and my husband comes in needing a surgery, would I not drop it all and attend to him?? May God forbid.. but surgeons are human too.. Imagine that I cannot be replaced for another pre- scheduled surgery.. Will I be able to give my 100% knowing my heart and soul needs me?? Easy to judge, but hard to fill in shoes and think 😳..

Raunaq, Just one line. Life isn't fair. 😊

One is lucky to have loads of Doctor relatives, friends and money anywhere in the world. If you are rich and well known India, US, UK or any country doesn't matter; you get special treatment.

I agree with Maya totally.

Well the health system in UK is a big question mark and a root cause of hypertension methinx...which again.. they dont have time to treat!

Any family would be extremely lucky to have some relatives and friends who are docs cus here in UK, going the regular NHS(National Health Service) way doesn't help cus you wait for ages to get an appointment. The last time I checked when I had viral infection, the receptionist at my GP clinic gave me an appointment of a week later 😲 Maybe they expected me to either die or recover before I ever get to see them 😡

And oh yeh, money doesn't help either cus once they know you have it (cus you approach private health care) they will push you around for unnecessary tests and maybe even surgeries! I wish I was kidding! 😕

Its all become so frikkin commercial, its untrue! People will lose trust and faith in this system soon...that is, if they haven't already 😕

i would say atleast in US and UK,,,,you are admiited on time if u have an emergency, and u dont have to be the doctors friend cousin or big shot....
but in india pakistan.. matters are worse with "life is not fair " business.

come what may emergency or hell ....u need to have "'deposit money" or u need to have bank statement on your face or u need to have connections.....in US u are treated first...ofcourse later u have to pay the bills but cmon ur life is saved .....

we know life isnt fair but can u not be fair atleast when life and death matters for under previliged (the ones who cant cut queues) patients..

at such crucial times if admission in hospitals is delayed for not having connections then its unfair and unethical and disgusting😕

ya normally when u visit clinics and have to wait in queues and other fat rich relatives of doctors cut your turn and get treated first.....its frustrating and certainly unfair but i guess we could say "beggars are not choosers"and groan sunk 😡 and keep waiting for our turn maybe...

but its certainly UNFAIR and hospital system should be reformed,,

Even in US if you have connections you don't need to call up and wait till the doctor gives you a date for an appointment. There are many advantages of knowing the right people even in US😊.
