Come the month of December, the scorching sun hides its prickly needles behind smog and cools the earth. Time has come to draw blinds and shut windowpanes ,taking a stroll in sweater along the sidewalk is enjoyable, isn't it?

The winter is here with the festival full of love, joy and happiness i.e.

Christmas has always been a special carnival as it comes once in a year! Evidently, it gives immense happiness and joy, with fun-filled get-togethers, dishes especially made with care and love to share with friends and relatives, a fully decorated Christmas tree and gifts surrounding it. The blinking colorful lights that adorn the surrounding, all bring out theChristmas Spirit.

Away from our real family, friends we had created our second home here on India-Forums .So we the Team Santa is here to celebrate this festival with the IF family.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

As day before Christmas we try to complete everything whether it is the shopping or the gifts wrapping to make sure that everything should be on time. It gets all new experience everyear while decorating the house along with the christmas tree .From decorating the house and tree with X-mas themes to preparing x-mas delights to to having the entire family re-uniting...the aura reverberates with energy.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.
It is that magical time of the year again when kids dream about Santa wondering what shall they get for this X mas inside the stocking! People have an eternal smile on their face which cannot be wiped out no matter what and the bells start ringing with the sound of some lovely carols in the air. Christmas brought immense pleasure and happiness among childrens but elders also we feel likeChristmas morning is taking too long to get here.

Happiness ripples through seeing so many gifts, and most importantly the love and affection one gets! Nothing can be as warm as the care and affection on gets, and many Hope for the peaceful and lovefilled moment! At this moment, we have a special feeling of contentment, while welcomin...
Waiting for the eve and the santa.

Many who are excitedly preparing for their Christmas celebrations would prefernot knowing about the holiday's real significance. If they do know the history, they often object that their celebration has nothing to do with the holiday's monstrous history and meaning. "We are just having fun."

Being Team Santa its our duty to guide you all the story behind Christmas and itsimportance. So here we are

Christmas has always been a holiday celebrated carelessly. For millennia, pagans, Christians, and even Jews have been swept away in the season's festivities, and very few people ever pause to consider the celebration's intrinsicmeaning, history, or origins.Christmas celebrates the birth of the Christian godwho came to rescue mankind from the "curse of the Torah." It is a 24-hour declaration that Judaism is no longer valid.

The decision to celebrate Christmas on December 25 was made sometime during the fourth century by church bishops in Rome. They had a specific reason for doing so.

Having turned long ago from worshipping the one true God and creator of all things, many early cultures in the Roman empire had fallen into sun worship. Recognizing their dependence on the sun's yearly course in the heavens, they held feasts around the winter solstice in December when the days are shortest. As part of their festivals, they built bonfires to give the sun god strength and bring him back to life again. When it became apparent that the days were growing longer, there would be great rejoicing.

But when the fullness of the time was come,
God sent forth his Son,
made of a woman, made under the law

The church leaders in Rome decided to celebrate Christ's birth during the winter solstice in an attempt to Christianize these popular pagan celebrations. For the most part their efforts failed to make the people conform, and the heathen festivities continued. Today we find ourselves left with a bizarre marriage of pagan and Christian elements that characterizes our modern celebration of Christmas.

Just as early Christians recruited Roman pagans by associating Christmas with the Saturnalia, so too worshippers of the Asheira cult and its offshoots were recruited by the Church sanctioning "Christmas Trees"
Pagans had long worshipped trees in the forest, or brought them into their homesand decorated them, and this observance was adopted and painted with aChristian veneer by the Church.

Patronsaint of children and sailors, Saint Nicholas was a 4th-century bishop from Asia Minor. He was famous for giving gifts to children. His feast day, December 6, became a children's holiday in Holland, where he is known as Saint Nikolas.English colonists in New York called him "Santa Claus" because they couldn't pronounce the Dutch name. The English began celebrating the feast day on Christmas.

Since classical antiquity, the wreath has been used as a symbol of power andstrength.Harvest wreathes - the predecessors to our modern decorations - were used in rituals for good harvests, and predate even written history.

Christmas carols grew out of the first Christmas hymns, which developed in4th century Rome. While these Latin hymns were sung in church for generations,These carols, written in the vernacular language of the area they were composed, were enthusiastically sung at community events and festivals. They were not composed specifically as Christmas carols, but rather asconglomerate holiday songs that were sung at many separate festivals and celebrations.

Christmas bell history enlightens the people on this aspect. The young children of the olden times thought making a noise was part of celebrating the birth of Christ. Using the bells for merry making was an idea that caught on with the times. Musical instruments were not affordable to many and Christmas bells made the perfect substitute. Further, the bells could be taken with the people to the church, they could be used for carols. Such advantages made the bells popular quite quickly. From the Christmas Bell History, we find that tolling of the church bells informed the people of any event in the neighbourhood.

When Christmas is round the corner, angels virtually appear everywhere. It is believed that the Christmas angels fill the air with festivity. They are with the human beings, to protect them throughout the festive season. Small children are told bedtime stories, depicting the goodness of angels and their divine relation with human beings. Apart from the fairy tales, angels feature in manger, which depicts the Nativity Scene. The heavenly creatures can be seen in embellishments used for tree as well. Christmas angels are adored by almost every one and are especially liked by small children

Nativity scenes which rest under our Christmas trees are a visible reminder of that night when our Saviour was born. May we never forget to see in our hearts the little Babe of Bethlehem, who came to save us from sin. We must never forget that the wood of the manger that held Him so securely would one day giveway to the wood of the cross. May we too embrace Him with all of our love as did St. Francis.

Every year we celebrate Christmas. Every year we try to make it meaningful. But instead we end up with shopping, spending and more crazy things. And it becomes nonstop ,exhausting ,expensive december.

Would he race from one event to another?
Would he spend money on stuff people didnt need?
OR
Would he give generously to meet real needs?
Would he make time for the people around him?

What if u carved out for quality time : unhired ,uninterrupted .
To truly celebrate with the people in ur life
What if worship is more important than a perfect christmas
Because lets be honest

This christmas can be different
this christmas less means more
