And I still think that Parth proves how refined and powerful his acting is that he can leave his awkward, reserved and uptight real persona and give us The Manik Malhotra who is anything but these.
Don't try to look for the character in the actor .
I am mostly awed by the fact that Parth and Manik are nothing alike. It is all Parth and his acting that makes Manik Malhotra who he is.
Very true Medha. It is Parth's sheer brilliance in his acting skills which has brought alive a character like Manik who is so different from his real life persona. As to his dancing skills, we have only had glimpses of some of the moves in this show. I don't recollect seeing him dance in his earlier shows. So it could be that Manik, the character is a clumsy dancer and not Parth, the actor. The show only claims Manik is a brilliant singer. It is not necessary that a good singer is also a good dancer. As Parth gets under the skin of his character, maybe he deliberately danced like a non-dancer to fit the role.
I know actors doing this for their shows. For instance, I remember Shabbir Ahluwalia singing out of tune in one of his shows although he sings really well in real life.
