I agree the singing standard of II3 is way below SRGMP.
Havent seen SVOI so cant comment on that. One major reason is that this year they have allowed immature , untrained kids on the show. Many of the contestants will considerably improve in singing and voice quality once they grow up a bit more. But right now their voices and singing are not upto the mark.

Mauli who is probly the weakest singer in SRGMP is way better than any one on II3. Even performance wise she is much better than the over hyped Ankita.

no offense to anyone over here, but when u see the amazing talent in saregamapa and star voice of india, the people in indian idol look pathetic in comparison... i watch indian idol n enjoy it, but last year the show had REAL talent.. this year, while many people insist that the talent is the best this season, i completely disagree.. so many people this year say that they tried out last year.. why do you think they didnt get in last seasonn got in this season? not because they miraculously improved in a year, but because the standard has been sadly lowered this season.. last season, we saw the talents of trained singers like amey, karunya, meenal... this season, the only person who truly deserves to be here is emon, who is by far the best singer... i hate the fact that because of this lowered standard of singing, people like ANKITA, who is a mediocre singer at her best, whose main attribute is that sheperforms enthusiastically, are being given so much hype and praise.. ankita wouldn't have evencleared the galas last season, and this season shes a likely candidate for the 3rd Indian Idol! its so ridiculous, it almost makes me laugh... look at SVOI, where u might have your favourites, but u cannot deny that each and every singer is amazing and 99 % of them are trained. Saregamapa.. the talents of Amanat Ali, Raja etc. are flawlessly brilliant. and i just read about someone comparing Amit to Amanat.. amit is the clear best after emon this season, but cmon, comparing amanat n amit??? im really sorry if i offended anyone, i dont mean to criticise any contestants.. i also believe the judges are to blame.. they cant seem to tell the bad performances from the good.. we need SONU BACK!!! sorry for ranting so much, just got really pissed off lol... please dont reply if u have to curse me or shout at me.. reply if u have something to add, something thought provoking and helpful! thnx..

i think you are 100% right

I have to completely disagree with the topic starter because of his/her prejudiced opinion. Indian Idol singers are no way inferior to any of those from SRGMP and SVOI.

If you carefully observe you can easily know that there are only about two or three singers in those shows who are consistent, versatile or good performers and many are stuck in one genre or sometimes even the good ones give lacklustre performances. This trend is common to all shows since it is a stage performance and factors like pressure of competition, fatigue due to long hours of practice and shooting, being away from family & friends take heavy toll on these young shoulders and affect their performances.

It is clear that the topic starter is basing his views on the comments of the judges. In Indian idol the judges are more precise in their comments and are pointing the flaws and mistakes in the singing without mincing words and giving compliments only when it is deserved. But it is not the case in the other shows especially SRGMP where the judges have equated good and bad performances and the gurugraph has become a joke. How can a upcoming singer improve and correct himself if his mistakes are not pointed out?

How many times has to Ankita prove that she is consistent and is the worthy contender for the title of Indian Idol?
she has time and again come up with outstanding performances and some people with their biased opinions see the other way.

INDIAN IDOL ROCKS!!!!

indian idol has a different format to SVOI and SRGMP. II is luking for a singer who can be a stage performer. Its like...pop album material. But SVOI and SRGMP are luking for playback singers. like sumone on this forum said b4

"Indian idol is luking for a sunidhi chauhan, not a lata mangeshkar".

SRGMP are luking for purely singing based talents. II3 is luking for singing and performance. They keep saying "complete package". II3 is rocking because even though VOI and SRGMP have better singers, i connect better with Indian idol. 😊

i completely agree..........cuz i started off watching srgmp becuase ive been following that show for ages.........but i dunno i didnt connect with it.......i prolly only watched the first 3 or 4 epis........but i could connect to ii for some reason........maybe its because of emon..........gosh that guy is sure talented......and i agree with what you said......this isnt playback singing material on ii.......naina

I do not think that the topic starter is biased. Infact I think she is very logical and has a lot of sence of music to make such assesment 😊 😊

Well I give up😳 What can I say about the musical sense of someone who thinks Mauli is better than Deepali, Ankita, or Puja or even those eliminated like Smita, Aisha, Richa.

Get well soon!!😕

right, exactly.. im not saying that mauli is amazing.. infact i dont like her much.. but she sounds weak because she is pitted against people like amanat, aneek, raja, sumedha, poonam... and also the saregamapa platform is much larger, they sing to a bigger audience on a larger stage, whereas in indian idol, i cant hear the contestants half of the time and it sounds like they're practising instead of actually singing... puja is so talented.. really classically trained n a singer who deserves to be here.. but she is not using her talent.. sings so softly and chooses the wrong songs.. and yea, my point was that, the worst singers of saregamapa n SVOI are probably better than most of the contestants in indian idol.. NOT ALL.. but most..

n thanks ashbin =)
