Shankar-Ehasaan-Loy have a deal with Adlabs
By MovieTalkies.com, 2 August 2007
It's a first for music composers. If reports are to be believed, then music composers Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy will soon get a percentage from the music sales of a film besides their fees. The trio has struck a deal with Adlabs, the producers of Johnny Gaddar.
According to Pooja Shetty of Adlabs, this is a never before deal. Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy are now partners with Adlabs in music production. They will also get a percentage of the money that comes in from ringtones and any other venue that brings in the revenue for the music. The trio is quite excited about the deal. They now stand to become music producers from mere music directors. They feel that their interest level will become higher. They will be getting 50 per cent of every penny earned on the film's music. The music album of Johnny Gaddar has about six to seven songs. There are three original tracks and the rest are remixes.
