Bike phobic Rucha faces her fears
Rucha Gujrati is petrified of sitting on motorcycles but she had no choice a few days ago when she had to reach the sets on time for an important shoot.
Rucha, who plays the role of Suhana in Bhabhi narrates the unfortunate day where everything seemed to go against her. "I was travelling from Mira Road and somewhere around Kandivali my car broke down. I had to report to the sets as early as possible because it was a very important shoot- we were shooting the Sangeet ceremony of Rishika and Rohit. I am a very professional actor and I make it a point to reach the studio on time so I asked someone to collect me and they sent a car which then got stuck in traffic! Then they send a guy on the bike to drop me. I told him 'no I will not sit on bike!' but I was left with no option and finally they convinced me. I agreed on the condition that he would ride slowly".
Even though the rider followed Rucha's instruction, the actress was still on edge the whole journey. She says, "The guy was riding at about 20-30km/hour but I was so scared that I was praying throughout the ride for my safety. I had my eyes closed! I managed to reach the shoot on time and I felt relaxed only when I reached."
Rucha's bike phobia stems from her losing a friend in a bike accident. "One of my close friends met with an accident and died on the spot when he was riding a bike. I just cannot forget that and from then on I have stopped travelling by bikes. Even earlier, I was not very fond of riding."
But after her most recent ride the actress is trying to overcome her fears. "If you want to swim then you have to get into the water. Now I have started feeling good about riding so I will try to overcome my fear."
Apart from two-wheelers, Rucha is also very scared of reptiles and she prefers being as far away from them as possible. She once suffered a mild attack when a lizard fell onto her shoulder.
