It has little to do with looks/charm but goes much beyond that. I guess every lady in CID thus far has possessed the conventional looks FW hopes to use to draw in audiences (and even the lampies have plenty of fans on FB now, if we're speaking of looks). Many of them have done stunts as well. But only a selected few managed to connect to the audience on an emotional level - credit both to the actresses and the writers who gave them good scenes. Barring that, one can surely never achieve the desired effect or win hearts.
From my personal observation, the majority of the fans of Purvi, Tasha, Shreya etc. are actually female. I believe a major factor is the now thankfully spreading awareness about women empowerment which, to their credit, FW also portrayed well in some episodes this year. The audience finds something inspiring, to look up to in these ladies. They relate themselves to them. Unfortunately, what they are showing now not only goes against the notion of equality (the way they showed Freddy sir and Pankaj yesterday), but excessive use of force/assault/bullying that surely is neither pleasant to see nor even legal. Surely not something the audiences should be inspired by.
Just my opinion, sorry if there's anything offensive.
