Exactly, what's happening blatantly and shamelessly on our actual screens in undermined just because of the people involved is a fan favourite. While other people's much less desperate and non-existent relations are criticized and ridiculed.

I mean the amount of bashing Pritam has received, the names he has been called because of being friends with Karishma are disgusting especially when we have seen NOTHING suggesting that there is something between these two. Meanwhile, the real despos are conveniently ignored.

Also to add to the main subject of this topic, when Gautam's own family reveals that he is basically faking a romance for the show says a lot itself. Of course they know him better than anyone so there's our answer.
