Ekta Kapoor's new Arjun-Purvi of Sony PAL - Article

producer Ekta Kapoor is a tad superstitious is public knowledge. Recently, Tellychakkar.com reported about Ekta launching her latest show Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai on 16 October, the same date when her show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii went on air back in 2000. Now Kahaani turned out to be an epic venture and Ekta with the same date launch' superstition certainly intends to hit gold with Yeh Dil as well.

Well, the story doesn't end here. Guess what the lead characters in Yeh Dil have been christened?

They are called Arjun and Purvi. Whoa...rings a bell? Yes, the famous Rithvik Dhanjani-Asha Negi jodi in Ekta's Zee TV show Pavitra Rishta was also called Arjun-Purvi.

Coincidence? We don't think so. Let's hear it more from the TV Czarina herself: "Yes, it is sort of a tribute to Rithvik and Asha's characters in the show. Initially we had named the guy Rajveer but somehow it did not click and that is when we thought about the name Arjun (smiled)."

Well, with the magic Arjun and Purvi created with their love story in Pavitra Rishta, it would surely be a fruitful wait to see whether Navi Bhangu and Aparna Dixit would recreate the same chemistry on screen or not.

Oh yes, before leaving here's another pivotal point. Now playing Arjun and Purvi, Rithvik and Asha fell in love in real. So will history repeat itself in Yeh Dil as well? Only time will tell.

Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai will air from 16 October at 7pm on Sony Pal.
