Alia Bhatt ready to sing again in RockOn-2

Mirror had earlier reported about the race between Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor for the female lead in Rock On 2.

Now, it's confirmed that Alia has bagged the much-coveted sequel and after proving her singing talent to one song each in Highway (the AR Rahman-composed Suha sa) and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (Main tenu samjhawan ki), the Patakha Guddi will get to sing most of her songs in Rock On 2.

A source told Mirror that the makers were clear that the lead stars of the film should be able to give their own playback. And Alia fits the bill perfectly.

"It's a film which will be mounted on a much bigger scale than the original. And composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy who are working on Part 2 as well, are planning to create something unique and experimental. They are thrilled to have Alia on board," added the source.


Ehsaan Noorani admitted that he couldn't wait to have her sing to their tunes. "She is a wonderful singer as is evident from the songs she has sung in the past. We wouldn't want it any other way. She has to sing and she will be terrific, just like Farhan," he asserted. "Rock On 2 is an extremely exciting project for us."

When prodded on, he said, "So far we've only had a few preliminary meetings. The pre-production starts next week."
The film, which is expected to go on floors early next year, will be directed by ad filmmaker Shujaat Saudagar. He has replaced Abhishek Kapoor.
